The Steelers look to be in pretty good shape to repeat as SB and AFCN winners. The O-line was young last year and should improve. Hard to improve over a SB win, but I see The Steelers being better than last year. The emergence of Santonio Holmes will pull constant double coverage off of Hines Ward. At Hines age, most receivers start to decline, but Hines not really being a fast guy in the first place, I don't see his skills diminishing. Willie Parker will also now be in year two after the major knee surgery. Quite often it takes two years to recover from that.
New England will also be tough to beat. While I think Matt Cassell did a fine job, he isn't Tom Brady, and I see them being a contendor again as well as winning the AFCE
The AFC South is wide open. Tennessee will repeat though. You don't get the best record in the NFL by accident.
The AFCW is going to be commanded by SD. They will have a better record than last year.
The wildcard teams will be Jax and the Colts. I think Jacksonville's fall from grace last year was more of a fluke than anything. I also think despite coaching changes at Indy, Peyton Manning will find ways to win.
In the NFC, I see The Saints really shocking people. Everyone knows they can score crazy amounts of points, but their defense looks to be improved this year. It is hard to look too much into pre-season due to the fact, you will be seeing vanilla offenses, but I think there will be a significant improvement on the Sain't "D" this year. I expect them to win the NFCS
Green Bay switched to a 3-4 defense and with the help if first round pick BJ Raji, at nose, I think they can pull off the transition better than most in the first year. I think they will represent the NFCN this year.
Arizona will win the NFCW. Those receivers are very good and they may have a better running game this year as well.
The NFCE will be won by Philly this year. I don't think the new "wildcat" Vick will run will play very much of a part of it, but rather receivers really stepping up this year.
I think the wildcards will be The Seahawks and The Vikings. Brett favre will help Minnesota gain a respectable record and they may make noise in the play-offs as well. I think The Seahawks will benefit from Whoseyomama by a great deal. TJ is a very smart and productive football player.
In college ball..... get real !! Alabama was leading the National Champion Gators at the half in the SEC Championship game. They will have a better defense than even last year and will very likely have a better QB. USC doesn't play anyone, so they might very well go undefeated. I see the NC game being #1 USC and #2 Alabama, with Alabama coming out the winner by 9 points.
