Its going to be a tough game (Falcons versus Pats). With losing their 1st round draft pick for the season, the Falcons now have even more questions about if they can put pressure on the QB. The Falcons can try blitzing, but they don't have the talent in the backfield for playing man to man all day. I still hope they try to blitz a lot in the first quarter, and see what happens.

If the Falcons lose to the Pats, we'll survive. If the Pats lose, I think they're going to be in trouble. Watching them play this past weekend, I think the Falcons can handle them, but they're dangerous. Depends on which teams show up. We sure won't have the element of surprise.
As for the Cowboys... *shrug* They have some real stability issues. I can't say I'm sorry, as they are the evil empire.
I'm a Bills and Giants fan. Lets just say I'm not big on the Cowboys.
And I'll cheer on the Falcons because the Bills need every little bit of help.
Falcons didn't tank. They were competitive most of the game. Then mistakes starting getting made. But whatever. Their defense needed to get the Pats off the field and just couldn't the second half. I still think the Falcons can be an elite team by the end of the season.

Agreed on all counts. I have not been a fan of the secondary the past 2 seasons, and they got beat bad. The D has got to play better, period. The offense, too, but they weren't too bad--if Turner hadn't fumbled the ball, they'd made one or two more of those plays, and they'd still have been in the game despite the shaky performance by the defense.
Like I said, the Pats needed this W more than the Falcons did. I'm looking forward to the next game.

)It was ugly, but the Cowboys are back in the saddle again with a 21-7 defeat of Carolina on Monday night. The defense kept us in the game and Romo didn't make quite as many mistakes as he usually does. We are now 2-1 on the year. I predict an 11-5 record for the Pokes in 2009!
The Falcons had no offense against the Pats. To me, that is tanking. We scored only 10 points. Shame on us!
You have to be on the field to have offense.
But something is up with the offensive line this year, just not creating the gaps that Turner had last year. Teams are also stacking against the run, and yet they aren't having Ryan just air it out more. Need to be doing that.

Their defense definitely needs to stand up more and get the offense into the game more often. We can't win by defense alone. Great offenses like New England's will dominate our defense and keep our offense off the field. We must find a way to overcome this.
The Falcons take an early BYE week this season, so what'll be the NFL Game Of The Week in their absence?
