For those interested in DOOM

"Footprints" is seriously one of the most amazing songs I have ever, ever heard. Everything about it is PERFECT!! The rest of the album is very good, but it doesn't get any better than that.

listening to Warning for the first time ever

the first 3 minutes of the s/t track are just spectacular, and then the vocals come in, and you realize immediately that this is going to be one of those "one-of-a-kind" albums

*speechless*

I nearly always ignore lyrics. I usually hear the voice as just another instrument. There are exceptions though, and this is a textbook example. I can't help but hang on every single word. It sounds cheesy, but this is one of those albums that impacts you on a deeper listening level than most. You feel it in your head and in your soul. You have to really put in the attention to listen to it, but it's so immediately captivating that that requirement is a joy.

This is probably the best cd released in years.
I can't describe how I feel listening to it, as gay as all that sounds.

Current favourites: Bridges, Faces

Fuck, the lyrics on songs like Footprints and Faces are so sad :(

I got to about 9 minutes into the first song, and I was so utterly emotionally moved (no lie) that I had to hit the stop button and start it again from the very beginning.

I know the vocals are perfect and you can understand every single word he sings, but goddamn, this is one insert that needs lyrics printed. This is an album where the world has to stop and you need to read along and focus.

<-- overnight fanboy, I must own everything by this band, including a shirt and frilly thong

Yeah, I've listened to this probably twice a day or more since I got the cd in!
Wtf!? Some of these songs really hit close to home with some of the shit going on in my life lately.

I can't get enough!

Next time youll read me when I type. :bah:

Not sure if youd dig Strength To Dream as much. Well, I know you wont dig it as much. It's not as developed as this one is. Still was my favorite Doom Metal album of all-time though until Pat and the crew spawned this one on my ass.

If you want it, I'd get it sooner rather than later. I'm not sure how many copies were pressed.

Reasons to live in Europe:

1. Warning toured the UK with Solstice.

2. Warning toured with Rev Bizarre in Finland this past January.

3. Warning will tour with Gates of Slumber in the UK this summer.

4. Warning are British. Rule Brittania. :kickass:

Fucking Fates Warning gay proggy cunty band interfering with doing a "Warning" search on eBay.

Did you see what Brainticket wrote on their eBay ad for the CD?

Many years since the debut and we now are blessed with some new DOOM from one of the finest around. This sophomore effort is already a near doom classic only after 2 listens. Very heavy and morose, with a good balance between raw, drifting rainstorm gloom and epic proclamations of woe and misery. Imagine a perfect hybrid of Candlemass, St. Vitus, and Revelation and then add some more sorrow to it and you have this new Warning. Really standing out on their own courtesy of the heartfelt vocals and mastery of the rainy day doom riff, this album is 100% essential to anyone into pure doom metal of the highest caliber. Well done indeed.

It's amazing how everyone is falling under this album's spell before the CD's even stopped spinning.

History in the making?

Last time I saw Strength To Dream on Ebay, it went for like $80.

I remember just only a year ago, they would go for $25 TOPS. lol

Rich will repress both. If he doesnt, he'll be losing a lot of clout plus Im sure he couldnt take the thought of everyone downloading it as their option.

Warning is also touring with Against Nature and The River in the UK. I will probably be living in the UK when it happens :)

By the way, I'm trying not to talk this album up too much because you get the usual knee-jerk reaction in this forum of some people saying they don't like something simply because others do.

Ken, for years I thought the production on Solstice's "New Dark Age" was THE perfect sound, especially with its warmth in the guitar tone, but I'd say this at least matches it, if not surpasses the production?

This album is heavy as all hell but beautiful at the same time. Not by adding faggy keyboards or going effects-crazy. This shit is bare bones, crushing, insanely emotional doom of the highest order. I'm on my 3rd spin today.

Bridges is currently nearly bringing a tear to my eye.
