What'd you think? I saw them in Chicago and thought they were awesome. I've been to a lot of shows (mostly bands like Sevendust, Mudvayne, Mushroomhead etc.) and thought Symphony X put on the best live show I've ever seen. I say this because they didn't do anything but play their music. No props, no pyro, no elaborate light show (just the house lights) just music. They were all smiling and looked like they were genuinely happy to be up on stage. I like that. I see so many bands put on an angry face and try to look all badass. "I'm angry! Take me seriously!". Not SX. It was really refreshing.

I had never heard of Blind Guardian before that show. They weren't too bad actually. I got tired of standing though and left when they started that acoustic song in their set. We were mainly there to see Symphony X. But can anyone tell me what BG's opening song was called and where its from? I'll check them out if anyone can throw a recommendation my way. Like I said before, I'm mostly into bands like Slipknot, American Head Charge, Fear Factory, etc. but Symphony X IS my favorite band so maybe BG would be something I'd like. I dunno. Thanks in advance.

The first song Blind Guardian did was Into the Storm at Detroit and Cleveland. They then did Welcome to Dying and Nightfall but then I don't remember anything else. I'm not too big of a Blind Guardian fan really.

Yeah, if you wanna check out Blind Guardian, get Nightfall in Middle Earth. Also a plus if you're a Tolkien fan since the album is a concept album based on The Silmarillion. If fantasy lyrics about elves arent your thing, then get Imaginations from the Other Side. Thats their heaviest album and seems to lack the Tolkien lyrics they usually do a lot.

Also, if you like Symphony X you might wanna check out a band called Adagio. Their website is www.adagio.fr.st dont expect to see em live anytime soon tho, they're from France and just getting started so might be a while before they head over here :p.

Adagio is a very good band, I think the world will get to know them soon. I can't believe how they begin "Sanctus". It sounds just like "Smoke and Mirrors". Very weird....

They may sound a bit like Symphony X but hey are still a very good band. I expect them to be more original on their next album
