What'd you think? I saw them in Chicago and thought they were awesome. I've been to a lot of shows (mostly bands like Sevendust, Mudvayne, Mushroomhead etc.) and thought Symphony X put on the best live show I've ever seen. I say this because they didn't do anything but play their music. No props, no pyro, no elaborate light show (just the house lights) just music. They were all smiling and looked like they were genuinely happy to be up on stage. I like that. I see so many bands put on an angry face and try to look all badass. "I'm angry! Take me seriously!". Not SX. It was really refreshing.
I had never heard of Blind Guardian before that show. They weren't too bad actually. I got tired of standing though and left when they started that acoustic song in their set. We were mainly there to see Symphony X. But can anyone tell me what BG's opening song was called and where its from? I'll check them out if anyone can throw a recommendation my way. Like I said before, I'm mostly into bands like Slipknot, American Head Charge, Fear Factory, etc. but Symphony X IS my favorite band so maybe BG would be something I'd like. I dunno.
