Might be encroaching slightly on Tabcrawler territory here, but how about a guitar tablature forum? I'm finding a nightmare to find tabs for certain bands, and I'm sure some of the guys on this board would be able to help out.

Instead of a "Chat" thread, perhaps a real-time chat mode?

We definitely plan on having a dedicated chat room in the future (depending on how our costs pan out!). Although we have one run through an IRC server (Dalnet) for the BLAZE forum, we would prefer to have our own chat room just for more control (and better performance).

Hopefully, if we can sort some sponsorship for the site out, we can get moving on this sometime soon...
