I like the new Si.

How many times has yer Saab been in the shop, like 20?! Christ man, if I had a 20 year old vehicle giving me that much problems I'd be cursing the entire design team. :loco:

Let's see...

1x for a recall
1x b/c I crashed it like an ass
7x for electronic malfunctions
4x for ABS/braking malfunctions
1x for door/window malfunction
5x for random other bullshit

so yeah, about 20

fuckers

I just got the assessment on the "excessive" damages that I'm on the hook for = $804! WIN FOR ME, considering the hood, rear passenger door & passenger-side quarter panel all need replacing!

Saab owes me $1350 for unused mileage, $450 for security deposit, so that = $1800, I'm already +$1000 the way I look at it. If I were to stay with Saab, I get $500 in lease loyalty cash + a waived $300 disposition fee

'kay, was just curious. I know a guy who commutes here TWO HOURS round trip, every day.

Nad will laugh that I think that is excessive cause SoCal is all about commuting, but shit.

lots of people commute 90-120 minutes each way, every day to NYC now. The cost of living within 30-60 miles of NYC is ridiculous, so they move further away and commute.

That is more repairs than I've ever done to all my vehicles. Other than changing brake pads and various fluids, I have been to a mechanic one time, and that was because I endo'd my truck into a ditch at 30mph and bent some steel. Well okay I replaced a few starters and alternators here and there, but nothing major other than that.

I am so anti-commute it's not even funny but yeah, a 2-hour / day commute is nothing. ;)

yup

thanks General Motors!!! you fucking assmunches

funny you mention the new Civic. I checked it out last week at a local dealer. Nice car, nice interior and seems well built. Of course for me, it was too tight. Fit great in the passanger seat, but not in the drivers seat.

same night I also checked out the new VW GTI ... about $25K fully loaded and really want to try that DSG Tranny all reviewers are raving about. will drive it this week sometimes. Really roomy interior on the GTI and super sporty cockpit.

now as a real headache, just dropped off my car this morning for service and they gave me an '06 BMW 325xi wagon as a loaner ... oh my God ... I am in love. Those bastards! This fucker drives and handles so sure footed it's scary.

Wagons for the win! I always forget Bimmer makes the 3-series in a wagon... shit, I should get one. NO! Pay off the Slubaru... get beyond that 63 month loan... save up the Canada cash... stop... talking to yourself.

Oh yeah, and since another car thread has popped up, I think Imma buy my mom a car for Xmas this year. Something reliable, gets good mileage, and under $15k. Was thinking about a Corolla, but maybe a Civic something. Thoughts?

She loves VWs, but them new ones just aren't cheap any more. Sucks.

So would I, because a Civic is way more fun to drive than a boring as fuck Corolla. But momz doesn't exactly feel the need for speed.
