FUCK

I've had this thought. However, a full withdrawal of a 401k account would accure a 30% tax/penalty, effectively rendering anything you're ever made on it null and void. I think it's a better bet to just leave it but stop contributions in the meantime.

My savings account though...I dunno. I've considered withdrawing it and keeping it in a safe. The thing is, it's insured AND the if the dollar becomes worthless, what would be the point of having it all at home? To wipe my ass, I guess. It might be wise to buy gold with it but that's not what financial advisers are saying AND YOU KNOW THEY'RE A SMART BUNCH

Have your savings converted into Euros... I know a guy who has done that. Sure, it's less bills, but they do look better.

Exchanging USD for Euros with the current exchange rate is pretty much the most idiotic thing you can do. "Hey here's a dollar, give me back 68 cents." When the USD regains it's strength, which it will inevitably do sometime within the next 40 years, his savings will have depreciated. It's not a good strategy to gamble against your own economy. A good idea is to throw money in stocks of export driven businesses that benefit from a shitty dollar. Or better yet, invest in limited edition cult black metal releases. (I'm not joking, check ebay sometime.):err:

Actually I've decided I'm going to go on like nothing's happened. I can't wrap my head around how my children and me are somehow responsible for bailing out irresponsible morons. I can't wrap my head around how the very people who are responsible for the lack of oversight are now making decisions to "fix" it. I'll go insane if I think about the damage done to future generations.
I won't have to worry about it though once I renounce my citizenship.

Well, he did it back when the dollar was somewhat reasonable after it's last fall... He's got a lot of money in various cash types.

He's not too good when it comes to stocks that are "sure things", so he definitely steers clear. He has this amazing ability to lose more money than he puts in. Luckily for him, he's got a solid good paying job in accounting software development, and as long as there are jews, he will have some money flowing in. He's just overprotective of his money. Actually, he's over protective about everything. He answers the door with a gun in hand.

I wanna hear the speech... reports say it involved a lot of bush and republican bashing which pissed off the republicans bad enough that they gave a no today...

http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/20080929/pelosi-speech.htm

Only time she said the word "Republican":

Over the past several days, we have worked with our Republican colleagues to fashion an alternative to the original plan of the Bush Administration.

As for Bush-bashing, we got this line:

It [$700 billion] is a number that is staggering, but tells us only the costs of the Bush Administration's failed economic policies-policies built on budgetary recklessness, on an anything goes mentality, with no regulation, no supervision, and no discipline in the system.

I guess defending one's own party's principles is unacceptable partisanship. Even if it had been full of partisan hackery, Barney Frank points out, that would lead us to understand that the dozen Repubs who changed votes because of the speech were happy to put their own feelings above the country's well-being.

Well, the thing that offended Reps and Dems alike was the fact that she brought it up when they were supposed to be showing the ability for the 2 sides to set aside partisanship and come up and pass the solution needed to band-aid this problem. As a result of Pelosi's usual inability to do this, the dow dropped nearly 800 points. She fucked up, she won't admit it...

This is not the thing to be defending one's party's principles with, especially since 3 years ago McCain attempted to re-bring the problem to EVERYONE'S attention, and it was ignored after a few weeks. Classic fucking democratic congress there. "Let's just keep milking the donations we're getting and ignore that there is a problem till everything gets too fucked up to fix in any reasonable manner".

Also, blaming the bush admistration for this is fucking bullshit. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpa...sec=&spon=&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink

MY favorite quote:

''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

Barney Frank can still go suck a cock.

You have to keep in mind that EricT doesn't know what he's talking about but thinks that he does.

Haha, you're a real funny cocksucker aren't you? Where's your logical input on this? Or are you too busy listening to an ABAMAMSDIOR demo from 1986, that nobody ever heard because it sucked hard dick, to make any meaningful contribution to this thread other than "ERICT DOESN'T KNOW ANYTHING BECAUSE HE VOTES MCCAIN LOL! I'M SUCH A PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRAT LOL!"

I hope your mother dies.

Anyway, now that that is out of the way:

Dude, Pelosi lined up 60% of the House Democrats in favor of this bill, a mirror image of the Republicans. You can't fucking pass this off on the left because the mean old lady hurt some poor little Repubs' feelings.

So what if she hurt there feelings? The fact of the matter is that the house should not be a holding place for extreme partisan ship, but instead should be an independently aligned area of government to make decisions for the better of the country, not a place to call bush a poo-poo head. Especially when it's a blatant fucking lie. Once again, Barney Frank, Mr. "There's no problem when I'm getting my $42,350 from the companies in question".

It's not just repubs who voted no because of the statement... She made a fucking mistake by saying that, and she should be held fully accountable for the fact that this bill will make no progress over this wonderful Rosh Hashanah break.

In the mean time, because of her inability to do her job as a non-partisan body, the dow gets to suffer. Congratulations Pelosi, con-fucking-gratulation.

This whole bill is bullshit. Only 8% of all mortgages are toxic. You're going to tell me that the other 92% of all loans being paid on time is not enough to keep these financial institutions afloat?!?! B.S!

40 years ago you would go find a house that was tagged at roughly 3 1/2 of your annual salary. Today you're looking at homes that would take every cent you've made in 12-15 years to pay off. B.S!

We have taken over Fannie & Freddie and have yet to pay one fucking dime to keep them afloat. Why?!?! Because they have 45 billion dollars of FDIC backed funds. B.S!

P.S Blargh!

Whiny Whore Eric Cantor (Republican) blames Pelosi for bailout failure because he got his feeling hurt and throws a pubescent temper tantrum.

I have no "logical input" because it's not worth my time responding to somebody who is stupid enough to say something like this:

I don't have a problem with people who vote for conservatives. I have a problem with people who talk about shit when they're either just generally uninformed or not equipped with the proper tools to comprehend the information they receive.

So go ahead, talk all the shit you need about the asshole who's just shitting on you and not providing any counterarguments, I won't deny that I completely deserve it, but right now I think it's worth it to make fun of you while not wasting my time getting into an argument with another wall.

Cheers, no hard feelings, etc.

i dont care that it didnt pass. i dont want my tax dollars going to pay for this shit.

if only we could decide where our tax dollars go.....
