Evoken, on the other hand, is funeral doom.

The blastbeats argument is not valid. The blastbeats are always defined within their atmospheric and minimalist approach...as opposed to death metal.

I would have to agree, they are boarderline on both genres though i might add. But if you compare them to someone like Esoteric or Stabat mater they are not.
