Not to put a damper on this topic, but a lot of the bands you guys are mentioning aren't funeral doom at all. Most of them definitely fit the doom genre, but real funeral doom has a completely different sound to stuff like My Dying Bride, Katatonia, Slumber etc. Doom-metal.com has a pretty good idea what's what in their bandlist, so check that out.

Firebox Music has signed Finnish melodic funeral doom metal band Depressed Mode. The band also features Natalie Koskinen, who is known for her contributions to previous Shape of Despair albums.

The band is right now recording their debut album and the release is scheduled for summer 2007 via Firedoom Music.

Tyranny, Esoteric, Shape of Despair, Evoken, Remembrance, Doom:vs, Runemagick, Wormphlegm, Nortt, Skepticism, Funeral, Catacombs, Ataraxie, Mournful Congregation, Pantheïst, Monolithe.

Most of those should be funeral doom, and I'm sure have been already suggested. Lots of the bands suggested in this topic though, are more in the vein of doom/death, still great bands nonetheless though.

And Katatonia? lolwtf

Catacombs is wicked. You can't go wrong with a doom album using H.P. Lovecraft for inspiration.

Shit I never knew there was this many funeral doom bands. I have been loving funeral doom ever since I discovered Shape of Despair. Checking out all these other bands you guys have recommended, fucking awesome!

Argh. They're not funeral doom you n00b.. apart from Thergothon they're all DBM (Depressive Black Metal)...
Funeral Doom is like Amaranthine Trampler, Rot In Despair (both formed from the same guy).
Alot bands I've seen here aren't FUNERAL Doom... just Doom, or Death Doom.

Though there are alot of funeral doom bands mentioned.
