Funeral Doom

Got these to start with:

Skepticism - Stormcrowfleet
Thergothon - Stream From the Heavens
Evoken - Quietus
Mournful Congregation - The Dawning of Mournful Hymns
Ahab - Call of the Wretched Sea (forgive me, it sounded unique)

Hopefully it doesn't sound like the band left the studio, forgot to stop recording, and decided to add vocals in later.

Yea I don't like clean vocals in doom for some reason...I can take some Candlemass but most of the time it's just too melodramatic like power metal vocals are. Ronnie James Dio annoys the shit out of me.

I used to NOT like clean vocals in metal period, so I know where you're coming from. however my tastes have since evolved (obviously)

Well I guess its not that I dislike clean vocals in doom or in metal, I just think most metal singers are pretty dreadful at it.

Doom metal is pretty hard to screw up with vocals though... I mean I have no issues with Ozzy... but he didnt exactly set the bar very high.

I love female vocals in doom too like Acid King and Blood Ceremony. It's almost hypnotizing to me... I cant understand why.
