Game Soundtracks

I also think most jrpgs are more of adventure games then rpgs. If games like Final Fantasy or Secret of Mana are considered rpgs, why isn't for example Zelda an rpg? My definition of an rpg is pretty much when you play a character you created yourself and were you can influence and make your own choices how to play the game. Most Jrpgs has very little of this which imo makes them more of adventure games as I said before. Most jrpgs > "real" console/computer rpgs though. :p

I agree with this person.

Also, Ed Hunter.

Interstate 76 has the coolest game soundtrack I've ever heard. It actually came as a separate disc with the game, I still listen to it occasionally. Awesome funk, played by a real band.

Original Doom was pretty awesome.

Don't forget Full Throttle!
and Day of the Tentacle!
Lucasarts adventures are truly state of the art.

As for the Myst series I never thought they were hated. From what I know, they're acclaimed by critics and gamers alike. I've only played Myst 3 and 5(the last one).I've finished the third Myst and haven't played the fifth one in a while. I got stuck on some puzzle there.Need to give it another shot
I wouldn't call Myst a typical adventure either, it's more puzzle-oriented game than most adventures, and interaction with other characters is cut to a minimum. Reminds me of Sierra's Lighthouse.

I've never seen a good review, even when I read magazines I remember it always getting shit scores like 30%. Pretty sure PC Gamer said it was one of the worst games ever or something too.

Seriously? All the electronic gaming magazines give Myst rave reviews. It's one of the best-selling game franchises. I just checked Wikipedia, it sold over 12 million copies, as of November 2007.
