Val, the best n64 game is obviously Super Smash Bros. Mario Kart is fun too.
I agree with this. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark was fun and all, but they haven't stood the test of time at all, nowdays they are pretty boring accually. Mario Kart and especially Super Smash Bros still kicks major ass though.

I have
Good world, and I like a lo of he detail, but they could have lived up to all their promises... like a completely interactive world...

I'm more annoyed with the numerous bugs and glitches, and the lack of vehicles with all that distance to cover. Apart from that, once you get into the game and past the opening couple of ours that seem determined to put you off playing it, it's damn good. And quite scary. I freaked the shit out when things started getting thrown at me by nothing.

I heard someone unofficially patched the game that actually clears away most of the bugs, adds some vehicles, and quite a bit of other stuff. I never bothered to find the mod, but it exists; you may want to try it.

i competed in a hyper street fighter 2 tournament about a week ago, unfortunately my joystick's fierce button broke after i won my first 3 matches and it took me forever to repair it in between which i had to play a bunch of matches which i lost because ryu without a fierce button is pretty horrible. so i didnt perform to well in the tournament but then i spent hours getting utterly rinsed by the top british players in casuals and by the end i was even winning a few games (vs. IMX's cammy i airthrew his hooligan roll w/ my zangief for the win which like never happens in actual matches so who cares that it was totally by accident and he was using the worst character in the game it was hella cool!) so i improved a lot overall 8-). at least tournament nerves played a hell of a lot less of a factor than they have in my previous tournament appearances so im making progress (im gay)...

unfortunately im at a level now where i really need regular high-level competition to improve and short of travelling 2 hours to london to play in the arcade every friday night that's not gonna happen! theres a few good people that play online but online even with negligible lag is so atmospherically different to even a casual real-life play that the experience doesn't transfer too well!

Someone start a petition for an all-extreme metal Guitar Hero.

As long as they don't make moar Slayer

Deus Ex 3 was announced this week. I'm sure I remember some people here being fans of the original. Any thoughts on that?

Deus Ex 2 was a disgrace but I can't help but have some hope for the 3rd one. Neither Warren Spector nor Harvey Smith appear to be involved with it. Which could be good or bad I guess (Smith was largely responsible for disastrous sequel so I'm not mourning his absence really).

I meant this week as in "sometime in the past week" not "today". But yes, looks like it was indeed exactly a week ago.

And they are building it on the Tomb Raider: Legend engine. I haven't played that game so I have no idea if that is a good or a bad thing.
