Oblivion is better than Morrowind. The former, for one, features superb graphics, an aspect which managed to distract me from the poor main quest and explore the beautiful environment, solving the pretty varied side quests along the way, which are a lot more interesting than anything from the main storyline.

Still, the most interesting RPG I've played recently is Dragon Quest VIII. It's one of those games that makes you feel sad when it's over. Great memorable characters, a vast world to explore, an interesting story what else does one need?
The one thing I disliked about it though was the random encounters that disrupted the flow of gameplay. Other than that, it's pretty spotless.

I can get past graphics for a game, and Morrowind was beautiful in it's own right... especially for when it came out. It had more side quests, a bigger area to explore, and it was just a hell of a lot more fun. You could do anything you want, if you got bored, you could just go on an epic killing spree for no reason. You can't do those types of things in Oblivion, because guards magically appear when you commit a crime, even if they didn't see you. Also, Morrowind's storyline was immensely better than Oblivion. The only thing Oblivion did better was the use of hotkeys and making it easier to do magic.

Ha, I did go on large killing sprees on Oblivion. There is a bug in the game that you can exploit for your own amusement. If a guard hits a friendly/ innocent target in your line of sight, they start fighting each other and then other guards come to the rescue; summon a monster into the fray and you've got yourself a bloodbath. Pretty fun. Plus, if you're powerful enough, no amount of guards can kill you

But you forget that Oblivion has PATRICK FUCKING STEWART.

Instant win.

I cheated in Oblivion and raised all my stats and gave myself cool weapons from the console. I'm also the Arena Grand Champion .

I played it for a while with no cheats. Leader of Thieves guild, fighters guild, mages guild, dark brotherhood, champion of cyrrodil, arena champion, beat all quests...

Best quest of all time = the house party. You can do it the easy way, or you can have mad fun with it.

Oblivion also used voice acting and random conversations, which was insanely cool until it started looping after 20 minutes. It also had better NPC reactions (in Morrowind a shopkeeper will stand there while you go upstairs and steal all his stuff). ANd the Dark Brotherhood pwns.

Morrowind had better plot, better backstory, and I liked the visual style more, although the graphics in Oblivion are better. Morrowind was also more hardcore in terms of content - drugs, alchohol, hookers, slavery, etc. Although Oblivion had severed heads...

Black will get old after the first level or 2. I have it, and I've still yet to beat it. There's no storyline what so ever, and every level is essentially the same. It's fun for brief periods of time. Also, it takes forever to get to checkpoints so if you die (which is amazingly easy to do) you have to go back so far that I just usually get frustrated and throw the controller.
Story really wants to be the Born Identity or something...
Playing on easy first time through, not very hard.
Levels are fairly different, enemies all the same.

I went into the CBD for a job interview today and stopped by the arcade there. Lo and behold, not only have they got replaced their four Tekken 5:DR machines, they've replaced them with TWELVE fucking Tekken 6 machines! Too bad it's $2 a pop though... actually that's a good thing or I'd still be in there wasting money.

The Dark Brotherhood one where you have to kill everyone in the Mansion without the others knowing? If so, then yeah I agree. Its fun finding ways to isolate people and pick them off. No-psycho

Best part is if you convince the black guy to kill the viking. Then when he starts chopping at the door you off him.

So GDC was this past week. It just re-confirmed for me that Too Human is my most anticipated game this year. Head over to gametrailers to see a ton of new videos. GameSpot has some as well.

For those who don't know what the game is about: it is basically the second coming of Diablo 2/Phantasy Star Online combined with a furious combat system that borrows somewhat from Devil May Cry 4/God of War style action games, all drenched in a highly appealing cyberpunk Norse Mythos aesthetic.
