Gamers Thread

about 9 hours through Lost Odyssey. Pretty cool so far, reminds me of the classic Final Fantasy games on the Playstation.

Finished Final Fantasy XII. Piece of cake. When you're over-leveled, it's no challenge at all. I still haven't completed a few of the later Rank VII hunts and a couple of side-quests; maybe some other time.

Any recommendations for similar RPGs on the PS2(besides Dragon Quest)?

PERSONA 3

Anybody played Serious Sam the second encounter?
I was cheating and I had to shoot in the main boss with a canon for like 40 minutes to get him dead...

the rainbow six series needs to bring the origonal characters and realism back, its turnin into just another xbox fps.

Quickenings are fun, but honestly, in the late stages of the game they're mostly detrimental and pretty ineffective .Once you have potent spells at your disposal, that is. I only used them to vanquish a foe with style.:) The MP boost you get for acquiring each is definitely a plus, though.
Did you use any Espers at all during the game? I found them all pretty useless most of the time(I've only acquired 10, though)

woa...I only have 2 espers...but no, never use them.

Hmm, that means you've only gotten Belias and Mateus, the first two storyline espers. You should do a fair bit of exploring/side-quest solving; you'll find the rest. One is in the sewers beneath Rabanastre, another is in the middle of that extensive network of caverns running beneath the desert sands, there's one on the top of the mountain at the Mosphoran Highwaste, etc.

Yeah, it's not too hard to figure out where the espers are, but I never need them, so...the Quickenings are useful as hell. For one, the extra MP is invaluable. But also, being able to take off half a boss's life bar right off the bat is awesome. Although you have to get lucky for that to happen...

Once I got 3 on everyone, I never got a chain that was less than like 15, which generally will take most of their life. Then you just bring in the other 3 and do it again.
Sometimes it's actually more effective to swap in only one character with full MP(leaving the other two with empty MP bars), since there's a big chance they'll get a mist charge.
The biggest chain I ever got at one time was 16 hits.

That's what I usually do...

I don't like the random, unexplained, unnecessary boss battles in that game. I feel like bosses should be extremely challenging, there should be a big buildup, and they shouldn't come every 5 minutes.
