Gamers, what are your decisions?

For those of you who have a 360 and want to play a good RPG, I highly recommend Tales of Vesperia (if you don't already have Mass Effect that is). It has a great story and cast of characters. It kind of has an anime style to it but you don't have to like anime to enjoy this game. Hell, you can hate anime and enjoy this game.

Is it that good? I love good plots but hate the J-RPG style of turn based combat with HP, MP and inventory managing. I was so pleased with Eternal Sonata semi-real-time combat, story and graphics that I bought Tales Of Vesperia just because it looked similar and had real time combat, but I didn´t started to play yet.

Age of Empires and Red Alert initiated my love for strategy games when I was just a toddler and I still think they're awesome. The Total War series has more depth to it and I love the scale of armies and historical accuracy...

However....try out Company of Heroes and you won't be sorry. It's smart, tactical, great graphics and physics, addictive online play, in-depth factions and very, very strategic. To be honest, it's completely made me look at Red Alert in a completely different way. Download the demo from www.gamespot.com if you're into strategy games and tell me how awesome it is.

For me it's Sacred 2 (to hold me till Diablo 3), Fallout 3 (even though I'll hate Bethesda for ever), X3: Terran Conflict, Left4Dead & Far Cry 2.

Also looking forward to the new Operation Flashpoint game, Storm of War: Battle of Britain & Diablo 3, whenever they get released.

Regarding oblivion: The only real incentive there is to become 'God'.

The scaled leveling sucks, but it just means that you have to level in a different way. You essentially want to get as powerful as you can, per level. So you up the max amount of stats to give you x5 modifiers on each attribute you plan to upgrade. By level 17 I was literally invincible. Either 100% chameleon (people can't see you and don't react to, or attack you) or 100% damage resistance. Then I made a stacked fireball spell. Decrease their fire resistance by a couple 100% then hit em with a 5 dmg fireball that last for 5 seconds or so. Cheap and will ONE-SHOT EVERY THING IN THE GAME.

Yep, I thought it was that good. I was never a JRPG fan myself. I was always for BioWare. In fact, the last JRPG I have played before Tales of Vesperia was Final Fantasy X, and I didn't even finish it because I got sick of the turn based combat.

Turn based combat only belongs in Pok'emon games.

I'll never understand all that love for Egoshooters. The first ones where fun but this genre has gotten so boring as hell. Especially all those war clones, what's the point of them anyways...

uh oh...now that's gonna get me some bashin', right?

I think I will do something I haven't done in ages: buy a brand new computer game.
I HAVE to have Fallout III .
Usually I am not willing to pay more than 10 bucks on a computer game.
I only made one exception and that was heroes of might and magic 4.
(and Mega Drive / Genesis games when I was a kid).
But Fallout III ... I've been waiting for this for ages !

Ah, gotcha - I generally don't like FPS games either, but CoD4 is an unbelievable masterpiece, and the gameplay is so smooth, I love it. Otherwise though, I'll stick to the third-person perspective (and I've NEVER liked WWII games either).

What is your opinion about FALLOUT 3 ? I love it...perfect end-time mood :)

I think it's an ok Elder Scrolls game, but a terrible Fallout one. It has absolutely nothing on the first two, but at the same time is better than Oblivion. The reason I put it up against Oblivion is because it plays almost exactly the same. Similar combat mechanics, similar generic dungeon-crawls, similar sterile NPCs and voice acting, similar 'open world' with fast travel etc.

I like the genre. It makes you look from the inside looking out rather than the outside looking in, if you catch my drift. I used to be a huge FPS gamer until I realize RPGs are my favorite genre.

If you are looking for an FPS with some pizazz, check out Mirror's Edge. It's a great game and a big breath of fresh air.

Totally loving Fallout 3 here. I played the first when it came out back in the late 90's. So cool to take on fire-ants face-to-face.

Fallout 3 is great..I nuked a village:hotjump: You can play it as an totaly asshole. At the moment I try to infiltrate paradise falls..this game is absolutely brutal ! The splatter and gore factor is awesome !! In Germany it´s cencored..thanks Austria;)

Look at that...Pipboy is watching me:
