ha, yeah possibly. I really don't make an effort to explore rap, so thats completely valid. its just one music genre I cannot seem to open up to even slightly. i just find the musical quality of metal to far outweigh the lyrics etc, whereas rap is really just beat and lyrics = nothing redeeming for me.

That's how rappers think. A rapper friend said once that metalists listen to metal because it makes them feel stronger in some primitive level of mind. The absolute fact is they can't respect metal as music, they just think it's about reaping the instruments..

Just because you think rap sucks, doesn't mean it's so. For every point you raised against why rap isn't music and sucks, someone else could raise three against metal. It's called opinion, and while I don't particularly like rap or it's message in 80% of the music, it is as valid as any other genre.
