German rapper steals from Dimmu Borgir songs

^Damn, anyone care to use Wikipedia for "music"? Is computer beat music really music? Or does it regard material of musical theory to earn the title "music"?

Let's be philosophical for a moment, can the engine sound of a race car be music? It sure is to me.. Or does it demand instruments?

my brother makes electronical music ,like minimal and other stuff (which is even without vocals). And after hanging out with him and his buddies for a few days I got to say that I don't love that music but it's music.definitely.
Of course I like music with Guitars more and see it as real music but I had a great time composing a electronical track with my guitar and a synth

you need to know some more rapper or hiphoper if you say they side against metal.
I used to hang around with some dudes once per week (they were selling good shit btw:lol:) they were totally gangsta-like and loved that lifestyle but we were friends.
We played that drinking game and one of them said '' ok rapper against rockers '' then the other guy said ''no wait long haired vs. rapper ''(he had 'long' hair.. compared to his mates) and walked over to us
So.. you can get along with them. Sure, there are lots of stupid hip hop guys..But look, how many people here said something against them.
Some of them are really funny and cool dudes.

Oh, well.. you know the guy who started a riot in a bar, saying "fuck you all, all fags go to the left side and all fuckfaces to the right and shut the hell up and I'll slap your asses!" Then a guy from the homosex side runs to the other and says sorry I was just on the wrong side

By rapper I mean a normal bloke who listen to easy music and thinks metal is just noise. Like one queer dude who showed me a fucking gay Eurovision song and started jamming, then I showed him the In Your Face video and he said strictly In my opinion that's just reaping the good instruments.

Other case is people who understand about music. A person who doesn't take sides. That's cool, he's considered, made a desicion, even tho the unfortunate wrong one, but that's life.

I think that one thing that makes much of electronical music music is the soul that's created by altering and connecting parts, the spirit - not the order of notes. Even tho some electronical music is so shit I can't believe it. Has nothing in it, just shit sounds, possibly even musically incorrect melodies... man that's not music. Then there's this scenario that some like to show what they've got by doing some cheezy things with the computer to create wacky effects and all that.

I don't agree when it comes to your view on theory.

Rap isn't music because it's not really based on theory? Or at least it's not based on complex theory?

It's obvious that rappers focus on lyrics, but what you hear in the background is MUSIC with MELODIES based on THEORY. The fact that it's simple and limited doesn't make it non-musically.

What about punk? Would you consider three-chord-songs being music or not?

Hm, someone should invent "Prog-Rap" with long beatbox-solos

well, like i said before, many many MANY artists can "hear" theory without actually knowing it. but the point is they actually make it musical. punk is definitely music. there's an effort to make it tuneful and musical. basic theory structure makes things "tuneful," and like i said, you dont need to know what you're doing all the time. most people's ears are way ahead of their brains; they can hear it better than they can do it. rap is focused on the lyrics and delivery; most often the delivery has no musical flow, its more of a chant. which to me is a poem; which is perfectly valid. however, to me, a chant isn't music. you cant hum a chant.

lol i actually like that prog idea . i've never been able to "beat-box" tho

prejudice should never be a barrier to friendship. ever.

I get what you mean, but I doubt that it applies to all rap songs. E.g. Eminem whose beats nearly always feature melodies (At least the songs I know).

Whatever, I don't like rap and I don't like the typical rap-fan.

:erk: i listened to rap for 2 years when i was just getting into high school..totally fucked my brain up with the immense retardation

then i discovered slayer because i listened to some rapper who used the main riff from raining blood as a backing track on one of his songs

and then we have mallcore :erk: not going into that

Yeah, this is so lame to steal beat from other musics to put on "amator" music lol.

But, they didn't hide the "Yow" of Alexi Laiho as well when the Rap "ew" Beat came from nowhere.

They should get punish hihi! :zombie:

yeah, but if the guy actually "sang," it wouldn't be rap.
