Ghost Reveries guitar tones

Anyone with some inside scoop on the guitar tones on GR?

Call me crazy, but the main heavy tone REALLY sounds like ENGL to my ears....

The classic Akerfeldt mid gain solo tone on Hours Of Wealth is rather gorgeous this time around as well, a boosted Laney perhaps?


I was a little disappointed in the GR documentary, as they showed minimal recording footage (I wanted to see Jens in action!), and minimal gear porn!

Anyone?

Im pretty sure the distortion tone, especially in Ghost of Perdition, comes from a Mesa Triple Rectifier... thats the only amp that Ive heard that comes close.

The cleans on HoW, I think they came from mikaels Vox AC30 (they also used it for the cleans in the first set of Lamentations).

Im not really sure, theyre just educated guesses.
