Just wondering if any of you have had any encounters or certain experiences with the "paranormal?" If not, do you believe in these so called spirits?

Me, I'm not sure, and it fucks my whole philosophy/anti-philosophy on certain things.

my grandma's house (now nonexistent) used to have some weird shit going on in it. maybe because 2 people died in it, dunno.

our house was right next to hers. i remember when i was 2 years old i looked out the window, out at her house, and on her roof i saw a little boy and girl. they looked grayish and it scared the shit outta me. so i was trying desperately to close the curtains when my mom came over and asked me what was wrong. i didn't tell her then cuz i didn't really know how to describe it. but a few years later i told everyone.
alright...soon after that my grandma got some dogs that stayed in the backyard. oddly enough, they started barking at the exact spot on the roof where i saw those two. the dogs did this everyday for YEARS, with nothing to be seen up there.

i've got tons more stories from that house
cats and other objects being thrown, windows busted, etc etc :ill:

this was the weirdest thing that happened there i guess. it was 1963, my mom was 8 years old and sick in bed with pneumonia for about the 5th time, really bad shape. my grandma was in her room with her late at night when the front door *LOCKED* front door flew open, and a "whoosh" came through, turned the corner, went down the hallway, and busted out the back bathroom window. the lock on the door wasn't harmed.

my mother, when she was small, also had a candlestick thrown at her from off the mantle while she was playing the piano.

now with my brother(who lived with my grandma then), he claims to have been in the kitchen (where his bedroom door was in plain view) and saw his door open and a hand throw out the cat that was in his room (flossie) hahaha poor flossie. but he very well coulda been on something

buttttt i saw a damn hand in that house too. i was spending the night as i frequently did, i think i was 7. me and my brother and my grandma were asleep on the sofa bed, i woke up all of a sudden and saw a dark, limp looking arm coming up from the side of the bed, with the index finger pointed toward the north wall. i didn't look to see if there was anything there it was pointing at. all i thought was "OH SHIT I'M REALLY SEEING THIS OH SHIT THERE'S SOMETHING THERE." i was fully awake. i buried my head in the pillow and started shaking my grandma for her to wake up. she did, i told her what i saw and to check under the bed. of course she just thought i was dreaming which i would have thought too. but dammit i wasn't.

once again, my potential gettysburg ghost from last summer

I've had several paranormal experiences with shadows, candles, noises, etc. but none so vivid as this, about 14 years ago I think:

At home alone, I think I was going through my mom's books or something, see something out of the corner of my eye, and it's this little tiny redfaced dude with green pants and a green hat. Instinctively I chase after the fucker, down the hall, into my parent's room, finally into their closet where it disappeared. It was pretty cool, but I never saw him/her/it again.

That's quite possibly the longest post I've ever seen from ct_thrash. Now THAT's scary. :loco:

When your mom was 8? When you were 7? When you were 2? Why doesn't this happen to sane people when they're, you know, 20, 30, 40 -- you know, at a time when they can stop to think and be rational about it.

Sorry, but ghosts etc = big load of codswollop. All KIDS think they've seen something, or they dream it and years later can't remember whether it was a dream or real, or maybe it was a story you heard and over the years and you forgot the true source of the story.

If there were ghosts, we'd all have seen one by now. Same with UFOs. My grandad told me a story once about witches -- for years I thought it was true. And then one day, I think I was in my 20's, I thought about it and realized these are just the kinds of stories grandfathers tell their grandsons. All campfire tales really, good fun and scary, but otherwise, very very fake.

WTF? You seeing leprechauns on acid again? :tickled:

@Doomy: no drugs back then, I was like 12. Didn't start doing anything until I was 15. :Spin:

@JayK: Sounds like someone can't hear the bell anymore. :loco:

well, my grandma was 28 when the whatever it was flew through the house, and she saw the candlestick incident as well.
my brother was a teenager when he saw.....THE HAND.
after a while i started thinking about how me and my cousin needed to make some horribly produced movie about a severed hand ghost terrorizing everyone it came into contact with

Believing in the paranormal = :kickass:

Believing in only practical crap like stereo instructions and Books for Dummies =

You know way back in school like when you're 8 and people say "what do you want to be when you grow up?" I used to say "parapsychologist," seriously. :loco:

You know that's been done 100 times already right? Even Oliver Stone did one version...

yes...but our style involves the use of a lot of lemon jello
Did the Exorcist have lemon jello? I don't think so. Your movie is going to transcend, and I'll be first in line.

If you believe in ghosts, your God/Jesus bashing rights are null and void.

Oh, and the Amityville Horror was real. :Smug:

the last time anything weird ever happened was right after my grandma died a couple years ago. everyone was a mess, i'd just run off to maryland the month before, then she died, ugh. well i'd just gotten back to texas the day before. my mom and i were sitting in the living room grieving when a tupperware container of my stuff kinda...jerked up off the floor, as if it had been kicked. no one there to do it, no cats, nothing. no jumpy toys inside the container. it was kinda close to the front door. my grandma came in and out of our house a million times a day. *shrug*
we just kinda smiled when we saw it happen :(
