GMD Social Poll: Top Ten Films of 1977

haha i'm in the same boat, i haven't seen those and don't even have 10 i'd really want to list:

1) suspiria
2) eraserhead
3) 3 women
4) stroszek
5) last chants for a slow dance
6) opening night
7) close encounters of the third kind
8) the hills have eyes
9) star wars

if i'd had the chance i would've prioritised seeing sorcerer, house, the devil probably, killer of sheep, cross of iron, desperate living, abigail's party, the kiss of death, rolling thunder, the gauntlet, local color, the last wave etc.

I should be able to post more now. I’ve entered the operations area of my company and now sit at the computer with my phone in my hand all day. Weird change for me but I now can fuck off on the internet like 45% of the time I’m at work.

Need to see this. I'm a fan of Peter Weir, Hanging Rock in particular.

Probably mostly just coincidence due to Weir directing them back-to-back but I've always felt as if Hanging Rock and Last Wave are spiritually connected. Both films have this foreboding atmosphere hanging heavily throughout even though neither goes directly into horror territory.

If that's your favourite Weir I really recommend checking out The Last Wave.

Make sure to number rank them or if you want to specifically leave them unranked just let me know. These are the rules:
- Please submit at least 5 films.
- First place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
- Feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
- Feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
- Feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.
- If you're so much of a dick that you have to post more than 10 unranked picks, the maths will be worked out.

Ah ok, think Il leave them unranked if that is ok, dont fancy trying to figure out a preferred order for these, that'd be hard as I rather enjoy a few of these
