i realised earlier that i loved a live version of 'phantom of the opera' with bruce on vocals years before i heard the studio version, and i liked opeth's cover of 'remember tomorrow' years before i heard the maiden version.

With the exception of the two Live After Death songs, I heard Absu's cover of Transylvania before I heard anything else originally from that album. For some reason my dad didn't own it (or No Prayer).

On the topic of live vs studio Maiden, I'm of the opinion that the live version of Dream of Mirrors on Rock in Rio is 10x better than the studio version.
