These two bands are 2 of the very few that made it main stream and also have that something special to keep those of us that don't care for the typical garbage played on the radio.

discuss.......

I don't like them, though Godsmack is more tolerable than Disturbed.

I am the exact oppostie. Draiman owns Godsmack by himself, the rest of the guys are just a plus.

I have seen Disturbed play live and they rock! 8.5/10
I hope to see Godsmack play live this year.

We saw Godsmack open for Metallica a few years ago. They were excellent and worth the price of the ticket alone.

actually both bands pretyt much epitomize shitty generic radio nu-metal that doesn't go outside the box or push anything. too me both sound like a bad version of alice in chains, only disturbed have more monkey noises

Don't care for either at all. If I had to pick one, I would choose Godsmack, as their stuff has some Sabbath elements. Disturbed is 100% false. Complete gimmicky crap targeted at 15 year olds who aren't old enough to know better.

I like Disturbed quite a bit. I'd like Godsmack better if there was any kind of progression at all in their music...it sounds like they record the same album over and over (as I've mentioned in another thread). Personally, as far as popular bands go, I like Sevendust and Tool better than either, though.

Your opinion means nothing when you speak like that because you are simply being ignorant. Glenn is a fan of Disturbed as much as I am, and I guess we just dont know shit about music do we. I knew that you were full of it from your previous assinine posts but this one takes it.

Wait a second...
So I am not allowed to speak my opinion on Disturbed because Glenn likes them? Don't see the logic there.
The original poster ASKED for our opinions on these bands.
I gave him mine. How is that assinine? Simply because it differs from your opinions?

I don't like Godsmack at all. The few songs I've heard sounded like crappy rehashed Alice in Chains material with a terrible singer. They even took their name from an AiC song. No good.

Disturbed is okay. There were some songs on The Sickness that rocked (see: Stupify), and there were some parts on the Believe album that were okay, but that album also exemplifies their downfall to me. Lack of variety. I don't care for Draiman's voice, and the guitar leaves a bit to be desired (not even for lack of solos, there are just way too many lackluster riffs). I did not listen to 10,000 Fists.

You keep using that opinion bs dude. Gimmicky crap that is geared for 15 year olds? 100 % False? Thats not opinion, try again.

I am all for opinions bad or good on anything weather I like it or not, when you speak like a 15 year old, you'll get treated like one.

I saw Godsmack open for Metallica a couple years ago or so, and Metallica really should have opened for Godsmack. Like someone said earlier, Godsmack alone was worth the price of the ticket. They are a very good live band.

Godsmack is a good live band, but there CDs have never appealed to me. I LOVE Disturbed, however, and I think each album is better than the last. I always look forward to their releases. I agree with someone earlier, I like Sevendust better than both.

I saw godsmack on 9.14.2001, they didn't want to play the show, but we needed it in Buffalo as much as they needed to perform, for the 2 hour distraction. They absolutely ROCKED the FUCK out of Darien Lake, which is outdoor. But, as previously mentioned, I liked their first album, but not as much the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time they released it.

I'm a HUGE fan of Disturbed. I find them incredibly unique and with a very distinct style, one where you can pick any of thier songs and say "yep, that is disturbed" with complete certianty. I have never had the pleasure of seeing them Live, though they played 2 shows in Phoenix recently, however, I would like very much to rectify this. I've loved all 3 albums I've heard by them, and while not terribly unique in Guitar sound through albums, I still think they're something of a diamond in the rough.
