I was curious to see if anyone else on this forum listens to the French band Gojira. I just picked up their latest disc, From Mars to Sirius and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I was also looking to find out if any of their previous releases are worth checking out as well.

For those that haven't heard them, they are a progressive death/thrash band. Samples/whole songs can be heard here: www.myspace.com/gojira

Gojira? Yes, please. :) I'm so pissed that I missed them when they came to NYC with CoB last month, but that's what I get for dragging my ass on getting tickets.

Loser! (jk) That was a GREAT show and not because of the headliner. I'm totally pissed I arrived in time to only catch the end of Gojira's set, but I caught three songs, and they were excellent! Very innovative and talented band. So was Amon Amarth. CoB? Tour fatigue or whatever, they seemed burned out. Review.

Can't wait to hear more of Gojira.

I too think that Gojira is a kick ass band. I hope to see them live sometime.

THey are coming near me on their next tour, but I can't afford to go to a concert for one band that isn't the headliner.

Does anyone know where I could pick up Terra Incognita, The Link or The Link Alive online for a reasonable price? (From a trustworthy distro of some sort rather than a digital download as per iTunes). I'm loving From Mars to Sirius so far.

I'll have to try and check them out live if I can it sounds like they put on one hell of a show, though one of my friends managed to get kicked in the face (literally) during a show on their recent tour with Amon Amarth.

GOJIRA PERFORMS "GLOBAL WARMING" LIVE AT SILVER CORD STUDIO; VIDEO

"...."A few weeks ago, we played 'Global Warming' together for the first time since the recording of From Mars To Sirius (2004)," says French metallers Gojira. "We never played it live before, as it is a challenging one to play, and place in a set list. It’s emotionally heavy, and would almost “hurt” the rest of the songs in a way. We just really wanted to do this on camera for our fans...."
