Never did I imagine it would bore straight into the hearts of so many a metalhead, but I guess I should have.

I find it interesting (nay, indeed, silly) that people stop listening to bands because of what the people in the bands do or say;

but using arguments like "they are greedy" as a reason why they suck is really not valid in my opinion.

or indeed even bring them up on a board, as people tend to get all pissy about it.

good lord. and all of that actually happened in your mind? impressive.

I guess sarcasm just doesn't come across very well on the internet ;) Especially not when alcohol is behind most of it.
Ah well, I don't really care. I must say I took offense at your reply though, but then again, you're right, I shouldn't really because hey, it's the internet and I should certainly have better things to do. In fact, I do and I will.
So peace, love and understanding to you all :p

@rahvin: Indeed, it did. I gather you're as amazed as I am? Now, before that amazement consumes us all, just allow me to defend myself by pointing out that some of those references were made to previous posts seen on here or to opinions expressed by the common man on the street, as they say ;)

Edit 2: Editing would be much easier if the board didn't go down every 2 minutes. Wasn't there supposed to be a server improvement some 2 years ago?

Probably inspired by CoB's amazingly stupid album title, IF decided to name their new album "Crawl Through Knives"
A minute of silence please for these two bands :cry:

Anders here. I’m in Dug out studio recording my vocals for our new album. Want the title.....drumroll......”CRAWL THROUGH KNIVES”. Yes there it is my friends. Now you can speculate and decide if you will like the album or not....... irony is a wonderful thing.

irony is a wonderful thing. pointing obvious irony out is akin to scream "i just made a funnay!!". so i've just decided i will not like the new album.

weill I read it yesterday and I think it isnt so bad as an album title.
better than the code is red...long live the code or somethink like this
I hope I will like it more than soundtrack:cry:

NP: I found an old tribe after tribe cd in our city library and this is real cool relaxing summerock(together with the new converge cd)

Just look at Iron Maiden; they're equally business-oriented, it's just that nobody notices because they sound the same as they always have.
there's that. and the fact that they can actually write good songs.
An afterthought: Why do many people say that classic metal bands like Slayer or Iron Maiden have always sounded the same? Maiden has been doing the same kind of music a lot, that's for sure, but their music has always evolved more or less when they've gotten a new singer. The Di'Anno-, Dickinson- (early and recent) and Bailey-era Maiden's music can hardly be seen as "the same."

The answer is quite obvious though. They're being dumb.

@4th horseman: i guess it can be said that iron maiden have never dramatically changed their style. metallica, on the other hand, on their latest works sound nothing like on the black album, which sounds nothing like ride the lightning. long, epic, classic-metal songs such as "paschendale" have been in iron maiden's chords since at least 1984.

this is how i usually explain such comments. it goes without saying that i agree on maiden's evolution throughout the years.

for my forum member friend -

"City girls just seem to find out early how to open doors with just a smile.
A rich old man and she won't have to worry
Late at night a big old house gets lonely,
I guess every form of refuge has its price.
And it breaks her heart to think her love is only given to a man with hands as cold as ice."

When I write You it is with my heart -

Ah well, Reroute to Remain kicks ass live and STYE isnt thaaat bad so I'll at least give it a try before I scream "OMGLOLZ they did it again!!11oneone"

@rahvin, NL, 4thhorseman:
One of those comments on Metallica was mine, so Id like to say a few words too. My only point was that this band lost contact with reality and is no longer believable, St Anger was only a product, nothing more, same as swiss chocolate. That said - Id prefer Load and Reload (though I dont like them)to StAnger anytime. And the things said about Iron Maiden - well, when I compare Brave New World or Dance of Death with Metallicas newer stuff - I can only do this: :Smug: at them.

Her opinion and point was objective with respect to musical taste, your reply was not.

it wasn't about anything i could find happening on this thread. of course i could start accusing everyone to viciously claim all black men are more stupid than caucasians!, but i think it sounds better when someone's actually said something on these notes before.

as for taste in music, i don't know hers at all so i can't say whether they're different from mine.

Try going back a page. Besides, when did all posts suddenly have to directly relate to a previous post around here?

I've also noticed your posts are starting to sound less and less like how you used to post, and more and more like someone much different.

Hey guys, calm down, please. It was the tone of NLs post that made rahvin react, remember? Yeah, he couldve been less sarcastic, but so could NL, ok? Taking offense is one thing, offend someone with the tone of your post another. The fact is there were some posts regarding Metallica, etc. and NL reacted to them in a way that I too found ridiculous but chose not to react. Rahvin did it and thats that. And you arent right about his posting becoming different, I still remember his very first post regarding my messing around a bit (the warning of bumpy rides, hehe) and he wasnt cute at all! :D (Yeah, I know you meant before, like really before, when I wasnt a member here, coulda been different. Anyways...)
