I see a lot of really nice tones around here with the Podxt, but I'm wondering if some people have got some nice tones for Gearbox. I own a Toneport UX2 and I've got the metal pack for the Gearbox so I have access to a load of amp sims of stuff like the 5150, Dual Rect., Diesel VH4 etc. Anybody found any good tones with these that they could share, or good tones that layer together well? Also anybody who's managed to get something decent using impulses rather than Line 6's cab sims would be interesting too. Any examples of Toneport in use??

i do have a preset which i like very much. is made with the 5150.
here is the link: http://www.hatchery-band.de/upload/img/5151 Rythm.gpt
and a mp3 recording (panned centered, doubled, no fx): http://www.hatchery-band.de/upload/img/5150 rhythm.mp3

feel free to us it if u like it. please drop me a line and rate it.

i also made two hole songs with the toneport and gearbox (also drum recordings). the drums could be a lot better, but with the toneport you can only record 2 tracks at the same time. you'll find them here: http://www.hatchery-band.de/neu/download/counter/count.php?id=trail and here: http://www.hatchery-band.de/neu/download/counter/count.php?id=xmas

yeah I realise that they load into gearbox, but I'm not really sure if they sound similar. I wonder if anyone could A/B compare similar tones, would be interesting definitely.

Thats pretty interesting, would have never thought to put technoish drums with metal riffs!

Thanks! I've done a couple now:

Champloo! (Gesundheit!)

& I'm working on more. I've heard a small amount of it out there, but not very much, so it seemed like an interesting combination to try out.

For the guys discussing what to do to get a good Pod/GuitarPort tone, maaaaaan, it all starts with bulb. :) I've had a bunch of my own tones, but after checking out his rhythm tone & tweaking it some for my tastes & my guitars, I began applying most of the basic amp & effect settings to other amp models (his uses the Big Bottom head) & they sound smokin' with minor tweaks here & there.
