Well, everybody knows what's happening there, so, do you agree with the government of China or do you think, like me, that everybody in the world must have the freedom to access anything possible?

More than it, i think that no govenrment has the right to control what your people wanna develop, and that's the paper of each family to decide what is good or bad to know, i mean, i know that there are a lot of crap on the internet, like ''how to make a bomb'' or ''how to get thin fast'', but i think that it will be my responsability about what my kids will be able to know or not since it's legal.

It's fucking retarded. I'm all for child porn and snuff sites being blocked, but I think censorship in general is just plain stupid. It seems like just about anything could get onto this "list" of banned sites.

I'm actually angry at google for continuously fucking with the situation. Firstly, no one even ever mentions the cyber attacks China performed on the Google servers - this was the catalyst for them pulling out. The PR campaigns however say the are pulling out because of this and because of censorship, which is good (not taking shit from China and all that). However, they then secretly go right back into talks with China and don't tell anyone that they once again authorized China to begin censorship. Then another PR shitstorm campaign happens and they are pulling out.

Make up your fucking mind Google and stick to your god damned ethical guidelines.

yeah, make sense. i'm glad cuz this situation opened the discussion about censorship and shit that everybody has access. I think most of stuff that we really need to know isn't on the internet, but i beleive that most of stuff that we have access should be censored, i mean, crap things like anorexy and pedofily. groooossssss!!!!

Censoring the Internet is a terrible idea everywhere, and hackers are smart and can always find a way around it. Censoring questionable porn sites is not going to keep people from making them. I see no positive light in even attempting to censor the horrible monster that is the Internet.

@Episteme - what about in Singapore? Everything is so strict there, I'm curious about how the Internet is dealt with?
