Graveland

I'm at work, and don't have it with me. Sorry.

It goes something like "Christian butchers slaughtered my ancestors that full with Immortal Pride did not want to accept strange faith" or something to that effect.

yeah i believe it says

"Christian butchers now regarded as saints and heros slaughtered my fathers that full with Immortal Pride... " etc etc.

talk about ridiculous:

Ha,ha... I do like Darkens music but some times I doubt if he's among the sharper tools in the shed. Even if you for some reason wanted to run around wearing camouflage doesn't the large logo on the chest and the text on the arms kind of defeat the purpose of the camouflage?

Its not really about the actual usefulness of the camoflauge, but the message that's connected with the image of camoflauge. ie. War, equating Graveland = War etc.

Yes, but the problem is that just like that picture with the crappy fake cross this just makes you laugh and/or shake your head... And that's probably not the intention?

Man have you bought one of those jackets or what? Just kidding... I get your point.

Since we're talking about Graveland pictures and what not, I feel that Darken deserves some credit for the artwork on The fire of awakening. It's really good! But more important the music is great too and the vocals are fine. Let's hope he keeps up the good work on the coming album!

nah, I haven't bought one of those.

The artwork from The Fire of Awakening is "Valkyries Ride" (I believe) but I can't remember who the famous(?) historical artist was.

I'm just getting into Graveland, so far I've only given thorough attention to these albums:

The Celtic Winter
Carpathian Wolves
The Fire Of Awakening
Thousand Swords

I was disappointed with Thousand Swords - I had seen all the praise it has received on various message boards, but I found it rather boring. The Fire Of Awakening was so-so, the first track is brilliant, whereas I'm not THAT keen on the others. Carpathian Wolves has some BRILLIANT tracks (Witches' Holocaust, Barbarism Returns), but the rest of the album doesn't really interest me. My favourite of the bunch is The Celtic Winter, which pretty much is good all the way through.

Ehhh? If I am to believe the booklet he painted it himself. You probably think of Petter Nikolas Arbo's painting Asgardsreien or "the wild hunt".

It's similar to the album cover, but not the same.
