Great bands that get no attention.

Dude honestly catamenia gets plenty of attention at least by me. Check my sig :)

Add to this

RAINTIME
SuidAkra (Honestly these guys are one of the best if not best folk bands ever, and they get hardly ANY attention except for when I brought them up around here and now a few of UM posters are into them, but they are rather unknown and I DONT KNOW HOW!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Augury (prog death)
Infernal War (black, think 1349 screaming audible word and gonig on a shred fest)
Persefone (melodic death)
Aes Dana (folk/celtic)
Ataraxie (awesome death/doom)
Satanic Warmaster (great black)
Mirrorthrone (death/black and a bit of everything)

oh thanks for all the band I didn't know before!

I won't dig too deep underground, but these guys all deserver better:

Tyr – They're starting to get some notice, but if you haven't heard them, do so immediately. One of - if not the - best bands in metal today

Nortt – Brutally effective black doom. Graven is one of the most effective albums I've ever heard.

Hammers of Misfortune – Their last release "The Locust Years" was one of the best of 2006.

The Living Fields – These guys rule! :D

Here are a few who no one really supports who I actually own CDs of:

Children Of Maani (amazing melodic black metal from Vindsval of Blut aus Nord; you can actually download the entirety of the EP from their Myspace fan site, since the band is long dissolved now)

Bodies Lay Broken (goregrind/grindcore; one of the best clones of early Carcass)

Gory Blister (more people need to talk about this excellent tech-death band with an unfortunately horrid name!)

Overmars (good doomy sludge metal)

Watchmaker (pissed-off grind with black metal influences)

Dripping (brutal/slam death with hip-hop/trance/chamber music samples)

Enter My Silence (great melo-death)

Insidious Decrepancy (utterly awesome brutal/tech death from Texas)

Honestly what's with all the shitty threads being made lately?

n00bs perhaps?

I don't see hardly any good threads you have started in recent times so what do you care? At least there are some "noobs" trying to participate in content creation here.

Besides that, it's a good thread and one I almost started just last week so thanks for starting it.

My list:

Ebony Ark - indeed! One of my fav female fronted bands, good one Xorv. I actually had hoped Nightwish would have selected her as their singer.

Bride Adorned - how these guys are signed to a bigger label is beyond me.

Mechanical Poet - maybe their downfall is how unique they are, fantastic band.

I agree with the thread. At least it's a new one in a largely stagnant front page.

May I add (some older picks here)

Mourn (female fronted trad doom, released one eponymous album on Rise above in the mid nineties)

Konkhra (from old skool groovy DM through an unfortuante neo-entombed phase through to raging deathrash)

Daemon (Left Hand Path worship on first two albums; third heavily dark angel influenced deathrash)

For Ruin (Great moody melo-death from Irish funsters)

Screamin' Daemon (Macabre on steroids, only much, much funnier)

Gorerotted (albeit well known) - Think they deserve so much more attention for bringing the fun back into gore metal.
