Great bands that get no attention.

Bloodthorn
Sepulchral Sect
Abysmal Grief (perhaps it's better if they go on getting no attention)
Deathector (split-up)
Suicidal Hold (split-up)
In Fieri (split-up)

Most of the bands I mentionned are ultra-underground, but really worthwhile.

Hmmmm I'd like to add

Soulscar (Top 2 or 3 best Melodic Death Metal bands in the world, and they are from CANADA!)

Lyzanxia *Honestly how can no one talk about these guys, they are the only "Thrash"-ish band I listen to and they are fucking insanely good*

Blind Stare (Possibly the best Melodic Death metal band right now, they mix in orchestral elements and its insanely well done)

Anathema get plenty of attention. Their metal albums are some of the most popular doomdeath next to My Dying Bride, and they probably got even more popular once they stopped playing metal. As for Enslaved, they are widely liked on other message boards that I post at as well, and it seems that all black metal fans agree that their early material was very good. I agree that Hatesphere are relatively unknown. I've heard them before, but for some reason have not bothered to really check them out.
try "the sickness within" by hatesphere
the album has some serious energy

holy shit! Coming from VVVVVVVVVVVVVVV thats a compliment. Thank you for not closing this like the others. Let me kiss your feet. :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

Ha ha! I guess even you can be a good poster sometimes...

Anyone here ever heard Cirith Gorgor? Their song, Winter Embraces Lands Beyond, is one of my favorite BM songs EVER. GET IT (and the whole album which isn't as good comparatively, but still...it's called Onwards To The Spectral Defile).

Title says it all.

Ebony Tears
catamenia
rain fell within
shaman
swallow the sun

eh I'm most likely wrong 'bout the last one. Their debut is THE :kickass:

Swallow the Sun doesn't deserve to be called a 'great band'.

their new album was but a b-side yawnfest of their first album.

Saturnus own them!

I love Catamenia though, they seem to be doing well enough for themselves.

I never hear any hype about Cryptic Wintermoon. I love that shit! (Into Ashes, The Shadowkeep, When Daylight Dies, Where The Oceans Meet Eternity <-- amazing songs)
