Powerviolence? Rofl, that should be a band name in itself.
As is typical of your posts, you can't seem to distinguish your opinion from fact. The OP asked forum members, what band names they thought were "shitty". There are no right or wrong answers to such a query. For instance, you offered up Cradle of Filth as shitty band name. I always thought that was a cool name for a Metal band....but I think it's ignorant to say it's a shitty name just because of cultural boundary.
As a side note, I find it amusing that you would reference the opinions of Neige to support your argument. Seriously... on what planet does anyone care what Neige thinks?
Someone forgot to send me that memo.
I can't believe you always make your personal opinion turn into snide smart ass comments.
You're without a doubt the second stupidest poster on this board - feel free to take a guess at who I think is the stupidest (he has his tongue halfway buried up your ass, so you might have a chance to guess who).

PS: Glenn, feel free to put me in "time out" for my blatant name calling. I'm sick and tired of Jason so I felt like it was about time someone (read: ME) spoke up. Ta' da' ...
This is a great thread as a bands name is very important, especially in terms of being "METAL" there are tons of ridiculous names like anal cunt for example. A name like that will force many not to even check them out because of how offensive that name is. Where as Pink Cream 69 doesnt sound very "metal" so who is going to want to take a blind listen to that? I think in other genres you have more freedom with band names, but in metal you cant have an non metal name. as i type this im listening to the Rust in peace Remaster... how horrible the vocals are what was Dave thinking?????
Because when most people use the thoughts and opinions of a 3rd party to support their point of view, they usually reference someone whose opinion carries weight on the given subject. Why is that amusing?
Thank god he's here to point out such things. It never occurred to me that the country I visited this summer was different from my own. Nor had it ever occurred to me that words have multiple meanings. He was using that reference to show how French people have a different perception of certain things/words than American people.
Yeah... I'm familiar with the term. Just out of curiosity, assuming we look to the almighty Neige to inform our opinions on fairies, does that somehow make the band name better? Would Hobbitworld or Elfland not be equally bad names?Ever heard of cultural differences?

Like I said, it just struck me as amusing. When people are debating or arguing a point, there's a certain subset of people you expect to see quoted... Churchill, Einstein, Twain, etc. Neige?Wouldn't that be the whole point of referencing someone?

Probably because it's Neige...I mean the guy broke up his band because his girlfriend was jealous of the girl bandmember. It's just funny to use him as a reference.
Fairyland is an awful name. Such a great band. That last record is one of my favorite power metal albums of recent years.
Other contenders:
Misantropical Painforest
Clair Cassis
Goat Molestor
Chinchilla
Griffin
Vulture Industries
LOL. The irony is, I like Neige's music. He's been involved with quite a few compelling projects, including Peste Noire, Alcest, Amesoeurs and Lantlôs.My first response when I saw the reference to Neige was .... who the fuck is that ???
I thought he might be misspelling Nietzsche or something.
