Greatest Rock Bands Of All Time?

But it's the kind of thing you have to hear for your own, to make a logical connection between your feelings and the pre-eminate structure of the musical connotations. More... you must be aware of this change to be able to promulgate a new discourse in your thought pattern. That is what its all about, basically.

You're either the most deluded and oblivious weirdo I've ever come across on the internet, or you're a really persistent and creative troll who's having a lend of us all. I'd put my money on the former, but either way, wow.

Very interesting way to put it. I'd say your still quite off tangent unfortunately. I don't necessarily troll, probly in the GMD social section though every now and then.

Listen to me and you may understand what it's all about:

If you manage to place a cucumber dipped in lemon juice on the tip of your "geographical" tongue, close your eyes, and try with all your might to retain it in its upright position, letting all acids to seep into the cracks in your tongue, searing it with fire, the third eye buried in your forehead may open and emit a wormhole into a parallel universe of pain and suffering, where you will witness the agony of others unlucky as yourself tortured for an eternity by acidic cucumbers, and when the portal finally closes after merely several infinite seconds, you'll be able to change your acquired taste for lemons, panicking at the very sight of these corrosive monsters of Mother Nature within licking distance.

I totally understand bra. That seems real intense. Besides the fact your doubling the sourness and causing a more hazardous after effect of the lemons. Probably even more. As for the cucumber. Well maybe you might not notice the taste of the cucumber itself. Though it may be recognizable.

So in other words there weren't enough interchangeable varieties of thought in his argument to formulate a change in your discern?

Perhaps, you see, it was because I was only looking at the short term. It's obviously because I don't have an open mind filled with the passion to forgo understanding.

go forth with understanding young men... go forth
------------------------------------------------------------

see JG, your topic was "greatest rock bands"

not favorite, not who likes who, not who thinks who sucks, but greatest rock bands

many lists were made of bands that achieved greatness, there are different eras, music of along time ago is not going to sound "great" up against later technology, later refinement in the music itself, in the direction or focus of the music.

In rocks early days the great musicians werent playing rock. Chet Atkins and Joe Pass were far more refined and skilled players than Hendrix or Page. Atkins and Pass were working in well established genres, further refining them. Guys like Page and Hendrix were just balls to the wall working on new ground. Go back further you have Holly, bands like the Beatles and the Stones, no one knew what the fuck they were doing, they were just doing something whether it was wrong or not, try this, try that. The times were quirky too, all kinds of stuff caught on and had its days of appreaciation... "life is a gas man"

Here is but a few reasons people loved the Beatles

Yea from Hendrix, go back one year you got The Rolling Stones. Go back 3 years you got The Beatles. Big fucking deal...

The Beatles are the worst of the three.

But to safely say, Hendrix and The Stones have much more potential and use it in a much better sense instead of making excessively cheesed up predictable simplisticness like The Beatles.

How about you actually explain this "better sense" instead of using opinion, personal bias and made up words such as "simplisticness" to enforce your 'argument'.

Or alternatively you could, y'know, shut the damn hell up.

The problem with your judgment, JG, is that it's retrospective, or lacking perspective. Much like mine, since I haven't been around when the Beatles were big.
So maybe they strike you as unsophisticated, cheesy unenergetic, etc, but they have surely influenced and inspired many of your favorite artists and mine as well.

I dedicate this song to JG

AND would also like to use it as an example WHY women should never be allowed to vote.

JG, I simply don't know how to respond anymore. You take every decent counter-argument to your bullshit statements, respond to said counter-argument by spewing pure retardation in verbal form, and then continue to believe that you alone have attained an ultimate understanding of music by accounting for various patterns of discern. Seriously though, stop being a fucking moron or at least use your good ole interchangeable varieties of thought to formulate some slightly better arguments to support your moronic opinions.

This. JG you are back on my ignore list.

Correct me if I am wrong but did you live during the Beatles era to say their music was predictable? There was a big difference imo between their early era and later era. Their "I want to Hold your Hand" era didn't sound like their Revolver/Sgt. Pepper/White album etc. era's. I would say during that time no one could of predicted they were going to make that much of a change. They survived as long as they did because they evolved with the times or created the times. Pop type of artists who do not evolve usually do not survive or their careers keeps getting smaller and smaller. Some that come to mind are:

Hootie & the Blowfish
Britney Spears
Debbie Gibson
Hanson
Tiffany
Boy pop groups (New kids on the block etc.

But anyways you can't call the Beatles predictable after the fact...

the singer from hootie is still going strong

Wow, thanks for sigging that quote Satanstoenail, I almost missed a gem of a thread here!

This interchangeability of thought is almost clicking to my mind! I must continue the discern

And finally, if you say that you don't believe in "greatest rock bands of all time" then why the hell did you make a thread about it?
