I'm in the market for a greenback 4x12.....
share some of your experiences, please...I'm looking at:

EVH 5150III (relabeled greenbacks, I believe?)
Peavey XXX (relabeled greenbacks, I believe?)
Marshall TV (not sure if I wanna get a Marshall though).

anything else I should consider?

All I know is the EVH cab is on my list for future purchases. I've enjoyed the HELL out of working with that cab. Maybe it was a placebo effect, but there seemed to be some certain mojo going on in that cab that I haven't heard through other enclosures.

Unfortunately, it was not in a studio situation, only live and at rehearsals.

I actually prefer the 1960ax/bx over the TV but yeah, the EVH looks really good and if Sneap said it's the best choice... Case closed.

My buddy has a XXX cab; for the life of me I have not ever gotten a sound I liked out of it. Putting it up against other cabs with the same head, it always loses. It just has a weird cloudyness in the mids that bothers me. But who knows, maybe its just that cab.

Greg has a Splawn 4x12 straight with G12M Greenbacks in it. That has to be the 1 most perfect tone I've ever witnessed firsthand in my life, and we tried it alongside a handful of other popular cabs as well, with a bunch of different heads through them. I would get that or a Marshall 1960TV. The EVH cabs sound good in person, but they have a certain cloudiness over the tone when recorded, I don't like them.

i'm totally hesitating between v30, g12t75 and greenbacks for the next cab i'm gonna take. It will be my first 4x12 as i'm currently using a 2x12. I have no idea which brand aswell, i've tried the marshall 1960 and the mesa. I actually hated the mesa, too much of a directive sound imo...

Well the classic combo is two V30's and two G12T-75's but I can only imagine two V30's and 2 Greenbacks in a 4x12 sounding amazing. You might also look at V30's and G12H30 (Heritage). They are similar to a Greenback but can handle higher volumes (the Heritage drivers have a little smoother top end). I swap between a G12H30 and Greenback with a V30 in my 2x12 cab.
I hear Bogner cabs are pretty awesome! Depends on your budget.

I've done a record this week with Marshall cab loaded with G12H's and it sounded huge! Very well sitting in a metal mix I am working on right now. I've done double tracks through framus v30 cab also and they compliment each other very well. I'll post some clips soon.

The EVH cabs sound great. Those Heritage speakers are awesome, but if you're doing metal, nothing beats the Splawn Small Block as a greenback replacement.

Def want to hear these!!! Those G12H's are amazing drivers!!!

I'm very happy with mine 1960BC or "1960 Classic" as it says on the badge.
I used Framus Cobra cabinet with greenbacks before, but for some reason it sounds exceptionally good only with Framus Cobra head.
