Grunge soloing

I don't know if I will incorporate Grunge into Metal. I use raspy vocals, that aren't growls or strong or anything, just raspy, sound creepyish I guess. I'll make a song with those vocals and post it here when I'm done.

Learn some Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins era) solos. Some of those may be a bit hard, considering he just indulges in an endless pool of effects. The song Zero will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Cherub Rock doesn't include as much effects in the solo, but those two songs should be of some help.

The definition of a guitar solo is a period of time where the guitar is the loudest instrument. Just shut up.

I have a sense of humor, but some people need to know when someone is looking for something and when they really don't want to hear someones sarcastic jokes.

If you posted a thread asking how to growl and people said "growling is gay" or "buy a dog" and some shit wouldn't that just be annoying?

All other Grunge I've heard besides Nirvana completely sucked ass.

Then you obviously haven't listened to Grunge. Nirvana is the worst Grunge band. Just because they're the most popular doesn't make them the best.

Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, the Melvins, Temple of the Dog, Stone Temple Pilots, L7, etc, are ALL miles ahead of Nirvana.

And about your soloing question, just do what everyone else said. Play the main vocal melody as a lead. Whatever you want, though, mostly. The philosophy behind the Grunge solo was to be the exact opposite of the Metal solo. This means no shred, no complexity or technicality at all.

Yes I have heard Soundgarden I didn't know they were Grunge. The other Grunge I heard was 3 Days Grace and some other shitty bands like that.

Also Grunge isn't a genre I regularily listen to. And I've only heard one solo that used the lyrical melody as a lead (Smells Like Teen Spirit). Songs like In Bloom didn't do that.
