What are your guilty pleasures? Mine are mostly bands I got into when I was much younger and just stuck with me to one degree or another.

Black Label Society
Godsmack (first album only)
Powerman 5000 (Tonight The Stars Revolt in particular)
Rammstein
System of a Down (first album only)

I own Godsmack's s/t and Awake. I do not listen to them, though. Edguy - Rocket Ride is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Later Pantera (especially RtS). All Out War - Assassins in the House of God (because I know that as a metalhead I'm not supposed to like hardcore, but fuck you all). Recent Elvenking (The Scythe, Winter Wake).

Fuckin love Between the Buried and Me, but I'm not guilty about it.
There really is no reason to be as long as its Alaska and onward. They've come really far from that shit they started out with. I used to hate them.

As far as Godsmack goes arent they more hard rock? But regardless I like their first three albums, haven't really heard anything worthwhile they released after that. And as I've said before, I love System of a Down, they are great especially when you're high. Rammstein's first few releases were pretty awesome, I especially loved Mutter, they were one of my favs when I was first getting into metal.

Nothing I feel guilty about, but here are some that are generally frowned upon by extreme metal fans:

System of a Down
Smashing Pumpkins
Guns 'n' Roses
Cradle of Filth
Second Coming
Days of the New (sort of...not all their stuff is good)
Candlebox
Mother Love Bone
Korn (first 2 and a half albums)
Mudvayne
Taproot
Chevelle
Faster Pussycat
Skid Row
Blind Melon
The Cruxshadows
The Cure
Peter Murphy
Jeff Buckley
Radiohead
Journey
Ozzy (I don't know how much this forum likes him, actually)
Lamb of God's first couple
Mad Season (If you don't know who this is, you need too immediately. NOW!)
Pearl Jam
The Police
Wham!
The Sisters of Mercy
Simon and Garfunkel
Ugly Kid Joe
Tool

And a good majority listed here I enjoy much more than any extreme metal band.

There's nothing in metal that I feel guilty about listening to.
However I do notice that a lot of the bands posted in this thread aren't even metal but more so alternative rock of sorts.

Pantera definitely gets some spins now and then, and Korn's first album like divine torture said..it was good IMO, not too many bands with bagpipe sections mixed in with metal!

Oh and this one is sure to upset people - Gojira! Now before you all throw a shit-fit, I mainly listen to them because they are one of the most fun bands to drum to!

You're a noob, but you're right. I didn't even think about that.

I guess out of my list, the two that fit would be:
Cradle of Filth
Mudvayne

Also: In Flames entire discography.

nothing wrong with Gojira

i have a few:

All Shall Perish
Unearth
Fear Factory
Soilwork
Soulfly
Lamb Of God
some Machine Head

bands that are probably frowned on here but im not ashamed of any tbh

I don't think there nothing guilty about some of the bands and why be gulity about any bands.
