I just got a 31 band EQ for my englE530 rack, is it normal to turn the faders all the way down on say frequencies 20-80hz for a high pass and 10k and above?

I know when i record i do this with the hpf and lpf but i dont know if people do it on their racks?

A standard graphic eq wont completely act as a lp/hp filter even with everything down as low as they can go

I wouldn´t high-/lowpass on the amp itself... Do it in the box afterwards. Just make the amp sound good, record and remove the fizz and mud with a good plugin.

+1

Guitar speakers need to get pushed with some nice low end to sound good.
I would personally use it for controlling the mid's and maybe dialing out some fizz.
