Hello from Ukraine!

Who tried to perform guitar solo on bass? Also, who create own bass solos, which even hard to play on guitar? I`m talking about distorted sound actually, but discussion may goes further.

In addition, how to achieve amazing speed in a finger bass playing? Exercises, licks, examples, techniques...

My own highest achievement – performing bass riff from «Got the Time», Anthrax (this one: ba-ba-ba-ba-bu-bu-bu-bu-be-be-be-be-bi-b-bi-bi), in 155 bmp, 16th-notes by two fingers (original – 133 bpm, pick). Does it make sense to keep on increase speed?

As examples for topic – my attempts to play lead guitar lines on 4-string bass by fingers.

Hmmm wrong section I guess.
Never played a bass, but dream theatre's bassist plays lead parts with the lead guitar. Try learning one of their bass riffs.

But seriously, in metal I don't know of too many bass players who play guitar solos on bass in partucular, but there are guys like Steve DiGiorgio, Jeroen Paul Thesseling and Linus Klausenitzer who often play fast in the upper registers.
