Back from Barcelona, I'll post up the next one tonight. Have some business to take care of first, my wallet with my ID's, bankcards etc. got mugged -_-

Can it be you're a little unlucky recently? First the Notebook, now mugged :(

Notebook was unlucky, wallet was stupidity. Had my wallet in my pants pocket in the barcelona metro. Big no no.

Can someone email me the corrected backing track? It was on my broken down laptop, and ermz no longer has the files.

9F moves on to the next round! Congrats!

RECORDING
Reamped with a Radial Pro RMP.
Rhythms were Peavey XXX
Leads were Orange Tiny Terror
Both were through a Ibanez TS7 (drive 7:00, tone 3:00, level 2:00) and a Blackstar Artisan 4x12" cabinet (V30's) mic'd with a Shure SM57, pointed at the edge of the dustcap, 6 inches back from the cone.
Recorded using the Profire 2626 pre's.

MIXDOWN
(This is just a quick rundown, exact settings can be found in the photo's)
High and low pass filters at 60hz and 12khz, 12db per octave on the guitar bus, aswell as a small cut at 400hz.
Due to the lack of eq on the tiny terror the lead tracks needed a bit of boost at 4.8khz and a cut at 450hz, and had a 12db per octave HPF at 20hz to keep the low end tidy.
The centre guitar in the verse had a 12db per octave HPF at 160hz and a small boost at 4.4khz.
Rhythms were panned 100/80 each side, melodies were 56 each side, verse guitar and the solo were both centre.
A 347ms delay was used on the lead guitars, panned to have opposite panning compared to the guitars (so the left melodies delay appears on the right) and there was a HPF at 120hz before the delay to keep it tidy.

ROUTING

Rhythm Guitars are divided in 2 groups:
- Guitars Wide (L1 + R1 panned 100%)
- Guitars Narrow (L2 + R2 panned 80%)

These two groups go into another bus called "Rhythm Bus".

Melodies go into the "Guitars Melodies" channel.

The rhythm bus, melodies bus, center guitar and solo, go into the "Guitars Master bus".

AUTOMATIONS

The "Rhythm Bus" volume is lowered by 0.5db when melodies enter.
It goes back to the normal volume when melodies are fading out.

NOTES

-The plugin called NRR1 that you see on all the guitars bus is an amp sim I'm developing and it is not released yet, since it lacks a GUI, that's why you see the standard Cubase sliders in the interface.

-If you try to make a null test with the only guitars track and the mixdown track, you'll not a have a total phase cancellation during the solo. This is probably dued to BREVERB, which seems to add some random stuff, making impossible to have a total phase cancellation when it is processing the signal.
Not a big deal, but I thought it would be good to let you know. Of course this applies to the guitars only, the backing track is untouched.
