I have to admit, that I gave my own vote to myself (I know: Shame on me) :(
So there's 15 votes left now

Would you care to be a little more honest?

If it wasn't you yourself (same ip address), then you had a bunch of people at your work jump in and vote:

Helius 143.164.102.13

Registration IP Addresses
Brharti 143.164.102.13
Dareriderman 143.164.102.13
Daschose 143.164.102.13
Dattelwebi 143.164.102.13
dmarypru 143.164.102.13
Mucknate 143.164.102.13
Sibrehombrero 143.164.102.13
Tracervpgod 143.164.102.13

As I already said: I don't want to win based on fake votes. At the moment I can't say what happened because I was not at work since tuesday. I always use the "Remember Me" option on any computer I have. So maybe this is a problem as well. I also know that 4 of the usernames you named, are really close to their private email addresses (Brharti, dmarypru, Sibrehombrero, Daschose). So I know these people as well. I don't have any clue about the ones that are left. I can clear things up when I get back to work on monday. In the meantime I would suggest that lolzgreg decides what happens with the price. As I can see now my win is based on "friend" votes and it's not a real win anymore. So congrats to Lolzgreg for being the "real" winner. In any case I will give some feedback on monday after I have sorted out everything at work. For the moment I can just say that I feel really sorry about everything that happened. :erk:

That's true, but as lolzgreg is the "real" winner he should distribute the prices to his liking.

In the case that Helius won in a dishonest manner, and I am the "real" winner, I already gave my Voxengo Elephant to Shadow Walker, which I am more than fine with.

Helius, if you think I deserve the Brainworx mastering EQ, and won it fairly, you can PM the download/serial number to me. If you think you won it fairly, keep it, but I'm not sticking my hands in anyone's pockets, regardless.

I email you the download and serial number as soon as I have it. I'll kill my colleagues at work tomorrow, but I don't wanna be said to be unfair. I mean I'm second and I'm more than fine with it.

Guys, I think there has to be a consensus on what is considered real and fake votes. Voting for your self is the most normal thing, even president candidates do it. A distinction based on different/same IPs is still far from ideal as one person can get access to different IPs and a number of people can have access to only 1 IP. Either way it's probably not a good idea to decide on these issues after the competition has ended. We should settle this in a civil manner and I applaud Helius and Greg for being mature about it.

On a related note, I got an email from Aleksey and I'd like to ask you for a final confirmation, although you said you're fine with me taking the elephant :)

OK time to be honest. I was already a registered customer for Amplitube 3 and bx_digital v2 before the competition (you could check it with Brainworx and IK Multimedia). As I work on Pro Tools HD I don't really have any use for Elephant. So it was planned before in case of winning the competition to give away Amplitube 3 and Elephant to the second winner. I promised one of my friends a copy of the Brainworx EQ. I never told him to fake results, but I could imagine that he was really dead keen on the EQ and maybe he created several accounts to place some fake votes. That's the only way I could imagine. It's true that I told my friends I would be really lucky to be among the first 3, but as I am second (even without the suspicious votes) I reached my goal. Sorry for all the trouble you guys (Contest Organisers) had with my submission. I would be happy if I'm not banned for the next competition so that I have a chance to get a "real" first place. Apart from that I feel really sorry about the outcome of the competition. :ill:

Elephant is yours my friend, do it!

I just listened back to the top 3 finalists, and there's no way the voting was fake. Everyone else has 2-3 votes, plus they almost certainly voted for themselves, wich is totally within your own right, simply because your vote counts as much as everybody else's.
There has to be a winner and a bunch of losers in every contest, and here we seem lucky enough to have people cool enough to share their prizes with the other contestants.

If your mad about something in here, I say just drop it and take your sweet revenge on the next competition with a so sweet guitar tone that give half the Sneapsters a boner, then, and then only, justice will be done for you.

So congrats to Helius and Greg!

I just received the email regarding splitting the prizes, no internet at home due to moving sucks. I left the prizes etc. in ahjteams hands so I'll let him do his thing. Whoever gets what, enjoy!

You aren't fooling anybody with these excuses. You're saying your good friend broke into your workplace and started registering accounts in your coworkers names and voting for you in the Andy Sneap Forum Guitar Tone Competition because he really wanted the one plugin that you don't already have? Lol okay.

By the way, who here actually voted for 3C? Because not one person even mentioned that entry

I really don't want to fool anybody. I was not at work because I was ill. And nobody broke into my workplace. Apart from that I already have all the plugins (apart from "Elephant"). And the computer which was used, was a measurement PC which can be used by any of my team members at work. I have promised one of my colleagues the Brainworx EQ in case of winning the competition because I already have it.

Today they told me the whole story at work and now I know how it all happened. If anybody is interested I can post the whole story in this thread.

So believe me or not. I really had nothing to do with it and as I want to be fair all the prices go to Greg who really deserves them.

Post it, but you're going to be banned I'm pretty positive.

You telling your colleague that you'll share the prize (PRIZE, FFS. not price. Price is something you pay) if you win in a public voting contests is creating incentive for him to cheat on your behalf - how did you not think of this?

Okay so here it is.

Me and my four friends (Sibrehombrero, Daschose, Dareriderman, Tracervpgod) we all work at Audi. When I had my birthday party on thursday I talked to them about the competition. My friend "Sibrehombrero" has a small recording studio at home and as I already had the Brainworx EQ I told him that he can get it from me in case that I win the competition. On friday I was ill at home (I have an official medical certificate from my doctor) and my four friends listened at work to Greg's and my submissions. They did the listening on the Reference Hifi System in the listening room at Audi. They all agreed, that Greg's guitars are a little bit bass heavy and boomy. They also said, that my submission is a little bit thin, but in general they preferred mine. So "Sibrehombrero" asked the other guys to sign up and vote for my submission. Furthermore he signed up with 4 more "Fake Accounts" (Brharti, Dattelwebi, dmarypru, Mucknate) and voted for me. They used the Measurement PC at Audi which they can all access very easily.

That's the story.
Believe it or not.

I know it was really stupid from my side, but I can not undo the things that happened.

And sorry for writing "price" instead of "prize"

It's too bad that this contest couldn't have been done honestly.

I will admit that the guitars were a bit boomy on a few of the palm mutes. I may have dialed in the Rectifier a bit bass heavy, and I didn't exactly go out on a limb and put twenty thousand compressors and EQs on my guitars.

Anyhow, I'd like to thank the sponsors very much for Amplitube and the Brainworx EQ, thanks to Voxengo for creating Elephant which I own and love, and all who entered the competition. I'm glad that the hoax got uncovered, because I am happy to be the winner :D
