Guitar Tone Question

For whomever can answer efficiently.

I'm going to assume that part of it has to do with production. But I was wondering exactly gives you that really clean, "cold", techy feel? A lot of mids and some treble with very little bass?

A good start is having a guitarist with perfect synch between the pick on the right hand and the fingers on the left hand. That will elminate a lot of noise.
