i guess if we're talking about who has the best skills as in technique at guitar than it would be rustey cooley or michael angelo batio, jason becker or maybe yngwie. if we're talking about who is the best guitarist than i have no fucking clue. there are too many to choose from. I'd say though the 2 top ones i think are mjr and steve vai. fuck any of you who say hendrix is better than mjr, thats lies.

Hendrix was not the best, people think he is because he was the first one to really show off his skills like that and were impressed by it, yes he pathed the way for all the guitarists nowadays, but i don't think he ever did anything to be the best. By the way i'm not saying he isn't good because i like him.
Also i might add there is not a best guitarist. You can't conclude who is the best guitarist.

Well, my pick would go to django reinhardt, hes freaking fast with only two fingers! And for hendrix, i think its because he give emotion to the guitar, something like he WAS the guitar, and its something we dont see everyday

Dragonforce is good! Herman is a bit of a show off but writes some pretty catchy stuff. I'd say Roope Latvala is way down the list of best guitarists because he never did anything great.

I hate it when people think that the best guitarists have to play blazingly fast solos and shit. Hendrix was known as one of the best song writers and could show emotion in his playing better than nearly anyone. Anyone who practises 3 hours a day can learn to play scales and shit really fast, but you cant be taught to play with such feeling as he did. I agree, while it does take skill to play fast, I think emotion makes a musician, not that you can play 200 notes a second, plus most of Angelo and Cooley's solos and whatnot sound like garbage just because they are too fast, and esspecially Cooley's sweeping is a bit much most of the time, I give them credit for their physical accomplishment, but other than that :Smug:
