D6 or Shure91 perhaps plus sub kick.
low tuning, hard beaters, good skins and shell

if you want a great metalkick dont bother with mics too much. First of all it needs to be tight. Second of all it needs to be at the same velocity most of the time.
So go with a trigger and good samples

like the ones Lasse sells ^ or steven slate.

If you have an epic drummer with a great drumset which is well tuned.
I would use a d6 and an sennheiser e602.
