ensamhetens vildmark
This is most likely a question for the Swedes on the board:
I've been listening to the 7th seal album the other day and when the track Hårga started I asked myself if the tune that is played by that fiddle at the beginning and ending of the song is based on a traditional song or tune in Swedish folk music? It doesn't really sound like that but then.....what do I know? :p
I know a bit about the story behind the song though (read about it in a Bollnäs tourist information :D ) that's why I had the idea it might have to do with some old tunes in Swedish history....

Yeah, it's an old folk music song around here, they play it on radio occasionally. In Flames have got a complete cover of it (or at least disted guitars over a fiddle)... But the best version around is the one by Orsa Spelmän :)

woohoooooo cool, Hugo! With that info I immediately found a sound file on the net. I'm sure there are tons of others, but this is exactly the part used for the Lefay song.
Found the website for Orsa Spelmän but no soundfile from them.
Anyway.....my question was answered, thanx all! :)
