Hi all!

I'm new to this forum. As a member that is, I did a shitload of reading here. Thanks for that! I love music, listening to it(specially progrock/metal), recording it and making it.

So me and my friend almost have a first song together. We did tons of songs but never finished on of them. Now we got a full song and, even though it's not recorded completely yet, I'm trying to mix the parts that are complete. I'm not satisfied yet, but I'm still a newbie, so I don't expect things to be blowing everyone away right away. I need a lot more experience and hope to get some good advice on this forum.

In this mp3, the intro/chorus are not finished yet, they need some guitar chords to make it whole or something and the chorus needs bassguitar, working on that. I play the drums on this track, it's not great I know. Hope to nail it next time

I'd really like your opinions on this mix/song!

We recorded using:
Instruments/amps:
Music man JP signature :headbang:
OLP Stingray bass guitar
Mesa Road King 2
Mesa Rectifier 2x12 cabinet
Mapex Saturn Pro drumkit

Mics:
Audix i5 on guitar amp
SM57 on guitar amp
Audix D6 on Kick
Audix D3 on first 3 toms
Audix D4 on 2 floortoms
SM57 Beta on snare (just 1 mic, on top)
2x Audix ADX51 as overheads for drums
Bassguitar is just the line-in. We have to re-record this later as well.

I record and mix in Cubase 6.5.

Here's the first part of the song:

Hi roflsaurus

Thanks for your comment. I will definately keep working on this.

What do you mean with a "scooped" sound?
