Has any one lost respect for Nile, Behemoth, Amon Amarth etc?!?

they are compact "discs" after all ... but thinking about it ... "discs" is a Jersey thing :loco:

The term "Jersey" annoys the fuck out of me. I just can't explain it.

My cousin from Jersey fucked a dude from Jersey while wearing a jersey, jersey jersey jersey!!!!

I see it differently. The goal of a tour is to play for as may people as possible, in the hopes of winning new fans. If I was in the blackest of the Black Metal bands, and Manson asked us to open his tour, was going pay us well, and put us in front of 20,000 people every night, why would we say no? If you go to the trouble of actually recording songs for sale and touring to promote those recorded songs, why wouldn't you want the biggest audience possible? Is it imperative that everyone attending one of your shows be tr00 and kvlt? Bands should judged by their music, not their clothes or who they tour with.

How about artistic integrity and all of that? (metal) music isn't a moneymaking business for everyone. I suppose this argument is stillborn though... If everyone was in da game to make as much money as possible, there wouldn't be much extreme metal at all.

Which again begs the interesting question, are Behemoth making extreme metal because they want to, or because it's the only thing they know how to do?

The internet has made me (more) cynical. :(

i don't think anyone on that tour was forced by any label to play the music they play to make money (which is pretty much the only way to compromise ones artistic integrity)

heck, even Manson is a true rebel in every sense of the word.

its just happens there are a lot of shitty bands on that bill that most of us despise.

otherwise, I rather admire an underground band that tries to push themselves to gain a larger audience than forcing themselves to deliver music only for the select few ...

ahh who gives a shit .. go enjoy the show and see the "hope" thread :loco:

Touting the virtues of Paganism before a bunch of white washed suburbanites in Affliction apparel is a compromise of their original intention as artists, I'd most definitely surmise. Performing live shouldn't be about promotion, rather than an intimate expression to those who share a connection and appreciation of your art. Nergal's forehead is so big he should rent the space to Nike for use as a billboard.

Fuck these kikes in irreligious clothing. To the Lions!

ah i see your argument and yet how many people who would otherwise love to see one of these bands in concert would rather shove a red-hot poker up their ass than go to this festival?

bands have the right to do whatever they want; it's their band. i reserve the right to respect them that much less for associating themselves with bands that co-opt our subculture for a big label paycheck. i'm curious, does it piss you off much when people hear you're into metal and ask, "what, so you like slipknot and stuff?"

don't mean to sound harsh at all, but imho it's pretty lame to tour with shitty bands in the name of "exposure".
