Has anyone DIY'ed there studio desk?

I'm going to, fuck paying out the ass for a piece of furniture that isn't really designed that well for my purposes.

Once it's done, if anyone is interested I will post the results/cost.

I bought a kitchen counter top from Lowes for $50 and mounted it on top of two 24 space racks and put two 4 space racks on each side of my console. It looks better in person and cost me less than $120 and a days work

$50 counter top
8 rack rails I got on sale from MF for like $5 each
1 sheet of MDF for the racks $20
1 set of sliding rails to make a keyboard shelf $10
1 can of spray paint I had laying around

so, somewhere around $120 all together

I designed and built mine myself, that was a few years ago now and I'm ready to get something new (my needs have changed). I can't be bothered building a new one so I'm probably going to get a Studio RTA Producer Station.

A guy I recorded with a couple of years ago really DIY'd his studio desk, He designed the channel strips, etched the PCB and the lot by hand. All 32 channels of it...
