Hate Crew Deathroll review online...

Well I don't know what to say.
Stretching the sound to a 5th album ?
When every album has been slightly different.
FtR mediocre ?
I don't think so.

I'll be doing my review of HCD for UM this weekend and you can bet it's going to bare little resemblence to the SonicDeath one :)

DUDE!!! I respect your opinion i just don't know how you can say that COB hasn't progressed and how their stuff is not original. I mean if you took a song from HCDR and put it on SW or HB it would sound out of place because of how much COB's sound has progressed.

   Hé hé ! I have to say that you have a strange sense of what respect is !   Sorry, it just makes me laugh.
But i was also estonished when I saw "the uninspired mediocrity of 'Follow The Reaper'", you all may fain it strange, but I'm sick of Hatebreeder, dunno if I listened it too much, moreover with tokyo warhearts, but FLR was my favourite COB album until HCDR arrived. Now I wait 'til I listen HCDR enough and find my favourite album again... And BTW, my favourite COB song ever i Kissing the shadows. Yup, I really like FTR.

you can pretty much sort up the album by saying the cd is heavier thrashier with more keys than usual. the song titles give the lisntener a comicle side of things rather than the usual death and i hate you type of feeling you get from SOME of the other songs they have. Janne has prgressed the most and has alot of bright spots on here like Chokehold for example sounds like the old Cob.
this cd has 9 songs and a cover of Slayers Silent Scream which is different to the fact they they use keys in the song. the cd flows nicely and doesnt let up. Angels Dont Kill is the only slower song that has good pounding riffs. They also use clips from American Psycho in Bodom Beech Terror, also in Needled 24/7 sounds like Kevin Bacon( some one correct me on this ).

I don't know but with the with your writing style and this "semi-erroneus" review I concluded that oyu are prejudiced. I'm not so sure though. You can't know the feeling of the other by reading a text.:)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean so I think I'm gonna have to just say fair enough and leave it at that! :)

hmm i have a few disagreements.

first i hate how you just blast the song titles. you did not mention at all they are supposed to be humorous, all you say is "shake your head in embarassment." i do not like reviewers that don't know what they are talking about...

also i believe there are no weaker tracks on this album. your better off dead is still fucking awesome. it still maintains that bodom formula and is a good song to listen to when you get sick of the other songs.

"There aren’t any really weak tracks on the album" im confused why you are contradicted yourself.

hm i think a good reviewer informs a person about the album, not give their opinions about it.

Haha...weak is an adjective...weaker is a comparative term. So I can safely say there are no real weak tracks on the album...they are all at the least GOOD, but "You're Better Off Dead" is weaker than the rest...just a comparison, based on my opinion. If I can't review around my opinion what would be the point? I thought I did inform the readers what the album sounds like.

i do not like reviewers that don't know what they are talking about...

Neither do I, but I fail to see how saying the titles are appalingly bad means I don't know what I'm talking about. OK, sorry, so I didn't follow every interview with Alexi to see him say they are meant to be "humorous". What if I didn't happen to find them funny, just really stupid? Is that not allowed?

Did you actually read the review properly anyway? How did I "just" blast the song titles?

In an 870 word review, I spent all of 67 words talking about the titles.

I haven't read it yet but HCD is not unoriginal... wtf dude. This is their most orginal album, yet I don't think they even stole (or "borrowed" as some prefer) any riffs or melodies on this one. Just a fukcign asskicker of a metal album plus more over-the-top keyboards than ever... which is quite original, considering they are a blend of death (not so much anymore), speed, thrash (moreso now), and power (at least power metallish solos, although there isn't much of that on the new album either). THye also used to have lots of classical elements but that too is gone. Although there isn't as much influences as before they have all developed a style together and the band is more tight than ever.

Hmm I read the review... and well... you suck at reviewing. It was almost totally opinionated, the hallmark of shitty, pointless reviews. And in addition, I didn't agree with almost anything you said except that this is a good album. In conclusion, I hate you as a person.

SD, what are you, nuts? ANYONE can just give "info" about an album; hell, that stuff is available on the CoB & Spinefarm sites.

A good REVIEW is exactly that, an informed person's OPINION on the music contained within...

Uh, markgugs, what??? Opinionated reviews suck. Eveyrone of them are fucking useless. If I ever reviewed shit I'd write about what the songs sounded like, where the band is coming from and what direction they seem to be heading in, in addition to my opinions (the least important part).

And on the websites it just'd be the usual garbage they spew to promote albums. (ie. The killing never stops with the CHILDREN OF BODOM's latest masterpiece! Ultra-heavy riffs combined with... blah blah blah etc)

but with the fact that it's put up in a presumably serious site, comes a responsability... you gotta base the review in facts and not pull out shit like "Sinergy sucks cause Kim is fat" like some farthead did once...

My english are not that good to discribe my feelings (sorry about that), but what the hell.... your opinion is your opinion.:)
