I like Manowar and Love Symphony X and I did not understand the comparison in videos. The cheesy part maybe but beyond that, I see no similarities.

Maybe Carl Hungus can tell us what Manowar video it reminded him of.

Zach can you recommend me some Manowar? I don't know where to start and never did with that band.

Also that HBB list is pretty sweet. Only a few bands I dislike. Oh and Horse The Band is awesome....

With Manowar, pretty much the first six are the ones to go with. Ross the Boss owns. Yeah, Manowar is cheesy as shit, but i don't know how people can dislike a band like manowar for being cheesy then go listen to black, death, prog, or power metal and feel comfortable with that statement. Metal IS cheesy.

That said, Manowar has some hit/miss stuff, but the tracks that rock REALLY rock. Battle Hymn is one of my all time favorite songs, but i would say start with either Kings of Metal or Hail to England.

Sure my bands are quite gay as well, but atleast their music has something to represent. Manowar are just full of gay-elitists

Not a valid point. Joey DeMaio is a great bassist, Eric has a set of pipes, and the drummer and guitarists are always far more than just simply competant. Ross the Boss had some of the best metal solos ever.

Regardless, you said what the music represents, not the skill of the musicians.
