Not a valid point. Joey DeMaio is a great bassist
Are you serious?

I do agree that Eric Adams can sing with the best of them though. He has a fantastic voice, but Joey is a total tool dude.

Are you serious?FatesFan you have to back me up here...please! Joey DeMaio's bass solos are some of the worst I've ever heard! You talk about wankery....sheeze....

I grew up on Manowar back in the 80s too and used to love them (at least for the first 3 albums). Into Glory Ride is still an awesome CD (my favorite Manowar disk)! Yeah, Joey is no Myung, but he is very good. And yeah Ross isn't a technical god, but he is solid as is the drummer. Eric, on the other hand, is an AMAZING singer. Just listen to Dark Avenger (from Battle Hymns) or Gates of Valhalla (from Into Glory Ride) or for that matter just about anything off of Into Glory Ride (Secret of Steel & Gloves of Metal come to mind) and you will realize that Eric is a force. Granted, I don't really listen to them much at all any more, but at the time Manowar ruled! Their music and image did get cheesier and weaker after Hail to England, but that doesn't take away what they released in their early years!First I will say that I grew up on Manowar and am a huge fan. Joey is no doubt a talented guy in some regard but he is no John Myung. I have seen Manowar twice and both shows would have been much better if they didn't have a JD bass solo every other song. Or at all for that matter.
Manowar are cheesy and ridiculous with much of what they do but that is what makes them Manowar. I love the guys. You can't take them too seriously. Manowar is without a doubt the only metal band that we speak about here that have played on Nickelodeon. That in itself is so wrong. But at the same time, Manowar has played in front of crowds that would more than equal 50 ProgPower crowds or more. I have a hard time busting the balls of a band that has made such a success out of them selves as they have. Example: I do not like AC/DC or KISS .But you cant take away what they have accomplished with their respective careers. I think KISS is in many ways as ridiculous as MANOWAR but MANOWAR are far more talented than the original KISS line up IMO.

i removed the stick out of my ass and learned to enjoy myself a bit and all of a sudden, the cheesiness that is Manowar wasn't so bad.
Exactly. Joey's problem is that he's too pompous... i mean, let's be honest... the dude's a dick, not to mention he feels the need to solo or make a speech after every song. But as far as talent goes, he can compose some great songs
So, you're saying if I don't like Manowar, hail and kill, blah, blah, blah....then I have a stick up my ass?I might need to get that checked out then....
~Brian~
MANOWAR are good, cheesy, fucking fun heavy metal music. They are meant to be FUN. Nothing more and nothing less. As that is the way it should be. I love them. If others hate them...then oh, well. HAIL AND KILL!
No, not at all. You can dislike the music, you can dislike the schtick (the reason why i don't like most kvlt black metal is because they are all tools... or at least i'll never take a band like Watain seriously), any of that. I just think any metal fan should be able to see that and at least laugh at the joke that is ALL metal. Hell, even Dream Theater and such are walking parodies, as is proven by the Petrucci videos. So, you're saying if I don't like Manowar, hail and kill, blah, blah, blah....then I have a stick up my ass?I might need to get that checked out then....
