Hi folks,

Anybody know where can I get a headless bridge and the endpiece for the neck? I can't afford anything fancy.

I want to do a guitar (first, then maybe bass if it goes well).

I've Googled up a couple of old eBay listings for "Overlord of Music" branded parts, but can't find a shop with stock.

Cheers.

Probably your best bet.

This guy stocks all kinds of parts for those brands, I'm guessing you want one of the S-Trem/R-Trem or a Trans-Trem type of bridge? Like this:

The r-trem is the cheapest one out of these three. For fixed bridges, this:

Although you have a hard time finding these as they are not made anymore.

I dont know much about headless neckpieces, but Moses makes the whole headless neck itself.

Just found this guy's site who makes fixed bridges:

Pretty expensive imo, you could probably hook up a real Steiny bridge for about the same.

Also some guys that may have bridges and string retainers:

Masterbeast, thanks for the links.

They're all a bit more expensive than I can stretch to right now, especially since the instrument I want to modify is a budget job itself.

The R-trem is closest to affordable, but still a bit more than I could jump on right away. Think I'm gonna bookmark it and put this project on the back-burner.

Cheers.

google "overlord of music" and youll find a cheap kit from china for around 25 bucks :) im modding a hofner shorty with this for a toatal of 165 bucks for a quality stienberger travel guitar. i cut off the metal block underneath the tuner to make it more lightweight

^ This thread is about 4 years old. ;)

OTOH, if somebody found it, it may still be a subject of interest to some... :)

I've done a few now, tried the Overlord bridge (not awesome tonally, brittle iron) another cheap Chinese (great tone, hefty brass thing, but the daft bridge arrangement couldn't hold the fricking strings on) and JCustom stuff from Korea (pretty good fixed bridge; mark one version of the trem I've only just fitted to my latest monster).

I'm pretty busy AtM, but could probably find time post a few comments about my experiences if there's interest.

crockman1, how did your mod work out?

I'd like to read about your experiences. :) hell, at the time I posted my replies to your question I was dead set on finding a lefty Newburgh Steiny. Still hasn't come to pass. :( headlessusa.com is a good place to ask about parts but I was told lefties are hard to find so I gave up long ago.
