Heathen Crusade III Pledge Thread;

Let's cross that bridge when we come to it...but don't give up on HC yet!

Actually, Mister Mayhem should set up a donations option on the HC website and see if folks outside of RC may want to pony up some rupees.

In case you haven't been reading the other thread, I ask whether we should consider changing the pledge format to "band sponsorship".

That way, the same $ total pledge can be made to Mister Mayhem, but we get some say as to which band the money ends up ultimately supporting.

Band sponsorship is a concept that is also utilized at ProgPower.

Just a thought?

I will up my pledge to $1000 if Hammers of Misfortune can be booked, with Scalzi on lead guitar and vocals, and Jamie Meyers or Janis Tanaka on bass/vocals, and the band plays The Bastard in its entirety.

oh yeah, sorry, any other HoM songs they wish to include would be fine for me, I was just sticking to the "pagan" theme with them focusing on The Bastard.

Doomed Parade
August Engine pt 2
War Anthem
Trot out the Dead

yeah man, it's all 10/10 godliness.

I don't even know if I've ever been able to sit through that shoddy 3rd album in one sitting other than once when I was asleep. Does that count?

Trot Out the Dead, though, is killer!

OK stickying this thread with the hopes of more people pledging their hard earned cash to not only support HC3, but to ensure an RC gathering at the next Heathen Crusade.

Who knows....if HC3 comes alive, and we have a large RC contingent going, maybe we can make up some shirts for the occasion.

This is a great way to keep the thread up as a reminder that our help is absolutely critical in helping to keep this fantastic festival alive. We still have a long ways to go to make a true difference (though eveyone's support is meaningful in a big, big way). Also, please be sure (and I'm positive all of you are already aware of this) that you will be able to supply the money you pledge if and hopefully when it comes time (or at least close to when it comes time).

It goes without saying that simply pledging your support and then retracting later will do more harm than not pledging your support in the first place. I know how much the festival means to most you though so this reminder should obviously be just a formality.

Let's keep it rocking folks! :kickass:

Anyway, you said the same thing about The Bastard once upon a time. :loco:

And it was your constant (at intervals of several months?) nagging that eventually got me to keep giving it chances until it thoroughly kicked my dick in. There's still something about it that makes it a definite 9-9.5/10 while August Engine would be the 10/10. Probably the production, and the lack of breathing room for the songs. A very dense album, which I don't think works as well for the Hammers.
